Dark yellow color, almost amber, off-white head, good lace. Very malty, light floral, bitter, grassy, hint of some sourness. Soft mouthfeel. High drinkability, seems like an excellent summer beer to me. jlf278 (254), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is medium strength floral, orange and grapefruit and a hint of pepper. Flavor is grapefruit and pine with some interesting bitterness that plays around the back of the mouth but doesn’t outstay its welcome. The palate is almost fluffy, expansive - really leaves you wanting more. Overall, simply delicious and offers a complete package all around. My favorite APA so far. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2007 Bottle from shp555 - thanks! Somewhat cloudy orange pour with a light-med head. Aroma has a nice citrus-floral hop essence mixed with some rye. Flavor is a nice rye/hop mix that would be awesome if it didn’t have a somewhat "off" grainy taste (not very off). Nice APA that is quite refreshing. Hance07 (192), DownSouth, Georgia, USA

The problem I have with alot of pale ales is the lingering hops in the aftertaste, they tend to last to long but this has a nice balance in the finish. Very well done you ol turtle. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2007 Thanks to shp555 for this nice pale ale. Pours burnt orange with a generous fluffy white head. Nice aroma of bread and toast, citrus leaning towards lemon, with a spicy rye and "plant store" sort of kick. Taste follows with a pretty tangy bread malt taste and a wonderfully pungent, planty hop flavor. Great back and forth mingling of the flavors between hops and malt. Finishes with grapefruit and toast. Full of flavor, drinkable body, light without weakness. Mouthfeel is kinda unremarkable, but alas. Good stuff! fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 1, 2007 By far Terrapin’s best offering. Nice golden color and white head. The rye really comes out in the aroma along with some pleasent citrusy hops. The dryness the rye adds to this beer is bery nice and makes for a wonderful anytime beer. Appears a transparent, medium gold with light co2 rising to the top of the small white head. Fades into a small white cap and rich collar. Rings of spotty lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of citrusy grapefruit, orange, freshly cut grass, moderate grain, and a touch of rye.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with citrusy hops breaking through to liven things up.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, citrusy, juicy, chewy, balanced nicely, with a dry finish.
