tennisjoel (931), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA Sep 1, 2009 Bottle thanks to zizzybalubba! Golden colored pour with a thin white head. Very grassy/earthy hops. Flavor is subtle and light. A little boring. Nothing offensive. OK. imdownthepub (5089), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Sep 1, 2009 Bottled, 355ml, from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon. Orange amber, carbonated, with white head. Initial dull wet cardboard from the carbonation, turns into a fruity but sharp, pine resin type flavour, dry on the hops with a light bitterness. Finishes a little thin and lemonade on the palate, but overall quite reasonable. asheft (1374), Marburg, Germany Aug 31, 2009 [bottle]
Beautiful floral and citrus bouquet--notes of apricot and strawberry. Also some toffee. Foggy gold covered by wisps of white. Flavor = assertive bitterness in front of dry caramel and bitter grapefruit. Peach and pear accents. Light to medium body, medium carbonation, lingering bitterness, though dry and crisp in the finish. Radek Kliber (3928), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Aug 29, 2009 bottle 355 ml
Appearance: crystal bright darker toned amber with large presentable neatly matching crown. Fragmental lace shown. Almost perfect show. 4+ Nose: brilliant hop freshness, garden feel after rain, citrusy green feel. Hoppy but fairly mild and friendly with balanced caramel malt sweets. 8- Flavor/Palate : full bodied. Smooth soft texture , full out well rounded malt , very soft with gentle leafy lip smacking hop feel. One of smoothers pale ale there is on market. I wish that top end hop character was noted bit more as malt here is very established. Solid brew.f-7+
branspra (204), Arlington, Virginia, USA Aug 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a rather large head. Aromas of hops, malts, and a very nice rye aroma. Mouthfeel is very smooth and a nice slick finish. Flavors of hops to start and then a nice malt finish. Foxbush (452), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 28, 2009 This was purchased at Whole Foods to support John Mackey. It is my first Terrapin beer. The ale had a frothy head and amber color with a nose of grapefruit. The hops were just enough to be a pale ale. They say the rye malt helps to dull the bitterness of the aftertaste. I do not think I have had rye malt before to support this. hershiser2 (902), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Aug 25, 2009 Bottle from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville ($1.70). Golden amber with a small off-white head, Smells of grasses and sour grapes. Tastes of lemon peel, grass, ash, dirt, and orange. Interesting. MaltDawg (778), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 23, 2009 (Sample Date: 8/18/2009 Source:Capital Ale House - Downtown) Light caramel and citrusy hop aroma. Clear light amber golden with small white head. Big resiny hop flavor with some caramel and spicy rye notes. Finish is dry with light residual bitterness. Very hoppy pale ale!
