bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Jul 25, 2007 Pours orange-amber into the glass with a predominately nitrous-induced head, diminishing to a tiny ring with trace lace. The nose is of yeasty dough, some sourness present. Nice malt upfront, the rye is somewhat present, but I don’t know that I would have been able to distinguish it without the description. Decently balanced hops in the lingering dry finish. The rye shows up more so at this point than previously noted. Mouthfeel is medium-round and still cleansing. The body has substance and character. Good session brew here. xander10566 (1), IOP, South Carolina, USA does not count Jul 24, 2007 a nice creamy finish with a nice balance of malts and hops. Love the sweet aroma, but little if any in the taste. This beer goes down well and is one of my personal choices for my beer after work. iep (229), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 21, 2007 Hazy copper body, large rocky head, lots of lacing. Floral aroma of C-hops, and some toffee/caramel. Dry and fruity taste, some sweetness & breadyness from the malt. Grapefruit and caramel in the hoppy finish. Good balance. Nice. wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA Jul 15, 2007 Decent, I just couldn’t get into the rye taste as I am not a huge fan of rye bread. The taste and finish are overwhelmingly of rye bread, but I got used to it by mid-bottle. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Jul 13, 2007 Hazy copper pour, small white head. Aroma is citrus hops. Flavor is grapefruit hops and a slight caramel sweetness which leads to a floral and dry bitterness that really lingers. Easy drinking with low bitterness but big on hop flavor. A very enjoyable pale ale, I could see myself drinking a few of these and I like it a lot better than the RYE Squared. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 11, 2007 pours a light caramel color, a light film of head remained until beer was gone. nice clean floral aroma. taste is a nice creamy malt, finish’s with a slight hop tang. this could be a little more bitter vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Jul 8, 2007 Thanks to jimbowood for passing this my way. Pours lightly cloudy copper with a soapy light beige head. The aroma is a bit of a sweeter malt bill than expected for a rye. There is toasted caramel malt, tropical hops and some earthiness. Medium body with fairly gentle carbonation. The flavor starts with honey, subdued maltiness, spicy bitter hoppiness with a bit of a creamy mouthfeel. The finish has more more hops, but they are all quite gentle and not very bitter - citrus, pineapple and a lingering pine / grapefruit affect. A nice unique pale ale. Eckato (89), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA Jul 7, 2007 Poured from bottle....nice white head with nice bubbles..nothing monstorous though and not long lasting. Nice hoppy aroma...and golden orange in appearance. Nice flavor at the start with a nice subtle punch of bitter....does not have the staying power on the palate...I like this one.
