unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Aug 16, 2006 This is Terrapin’s Flagship beer. Golden in color. Very refreshing and flavorful. floral and citrus aroma. nice hop balance. Great competion with that 420 stuff. tomhenderson (126), Carolinas area, USA Aug 8, 2006 12 oz bottle. Wow, this is a nice APA, enjoyed on top of Beech Mountain. I love Amarillo hops, and they shine through from start to finish in flavor and aroma. I drank from the bottle so I can’t comment on appearance. The rye malt adds a nice dryness to support the sweeter crystal malt. Overall, very nice and one I’ll seek at the grocery store. mbeem (104), New Hope, Alabama, USA Aug 6, 2006 Updated: Dec 21, 2006Pours a reddish orange color with a thin white head that dissipated quickly. Nose of citrus and floral hops. Good hoppy bite in taste. Very well balanced with a malt taste toward the end. Smooth finish with no bitterness. Very good! RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Aug 5, 2006 Pours a nice clear, coppery color with a 1/4 inch white head. Hoppy aroma with some grainy notes. Flavor is classic pale ale with a dry, earthy maltiness backed by a pleasantly sour hop presence. Bittersweet finish. Smooth, slick, almost oily mouthfeel. Overall, a very good beer, though. pintocb (508), Darsville, Georgia, USA Aug 3, 2006 On tap at 5 Seasons. These guys must somehow be in bed with Terrapin...which is fine by me. Golden/orange with some serious hops. Very bitter and citrus nose with a nice malty beginning followed by a lovely piney/citrusey close. Yahy.....
Delirium (495), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jul 26, 2006 Updated: Aug 21, 2006Bottle and draught. Pours golden orange with a medium off-white head; pretty good lacing. Aroma is quite strong, primarily of citrus and floral hops. Flavor is quite interesting and crisp. The malt backbone is quite grainy, with a bit of light honey sweetness (but not the more common and heavier bready/caramel malt backbone). This is punctuated by crisp citrus hops. Mildly bitter, with slightly too noticeable carbonation. Quite good for a fairly light and refreshing but flavorful rye beer. jhumphries69 (718), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Jul 23, 2006 Updated: Sep 1, 2006This beer pours orange with a light tan head. The aroma is strong with citrus hops. The flavor is also strong with citrus hops and the beer has a dry finish. The mouthfeel is a little thin. There is a slight graininess to the flavor (possibly due to the dry finish or perhaps from the rye), but not an unpleasant one. Overall, this is a very nice hoppy pale ale. kimcgolf (825), Dacula, Georgia, USA Jul 23, 2006 Poured to a golden orange with medium thick off-white head and decent lacing. From the beginning, the aroma was a pleasant hoppy citrus, mostly grapefruit and lemons, with some floral accent. The flavor was a slightly bitter continuation of the citrus aroma and very hoppy. The palate had a hint of sour at the beginning, but rounded nicely by the malt to a long smooth finish. This is one of the best APA’s I’ve had.
