We Consider this an extreme version of an American Pale Ale. It has a very up front floral and citrus aroma from a late cascade addition and dry hopping with Amarillo. This beer also has a big malt background to balance the bitterness of the hops. The rye malt cleans up your palette after you swallow so the hop flavor does not stick in your mouth too long.
Now available in bottles.

My first time down to Atlanta, I was lucky enough to try this is both bottles and on tap. Apparently if you order a beer at a bar in Atlanta without specifying draught or bottled, they automatically will give you the bottled stuff.

The Bottled: Didnít give me a glass so cannot comment on color or head. Difficult to smell the true aroma. It had a nice palate and was quite refreshing. Tasted the hops and malt but nothing really too interesting. It didnít really stand out to me.

On Tap: Pours a nice caramel color with a quickly dissapating head with a slight lacing on top. You really taste the fresh malt and hops in this one. The rye flavors also really pulled through without being too overwhelming. Slightly dry fragrantly hoppy finish. Nice sweet fresh aroma and the beer is also nicely balanced.

This ended up being my favorite local beer during my trip. Make sure you get it on tap. The bottled version does not do it justice.

12 ounce bottle. Slightly hazy yellow gold color with a small rocky white head. Aroma is sweet grainy malt with hints of rye. Flavor is more grainy rye malt with notes of citrus and bitter hops. Smooth and well balanced. Very nicely done. Very drinkable.

4/18/14. Draft at Bull McCabes. Pours golden amber with thin head. Nice hoppy nose. They've done a great job using the rye the build out the mouth on an otherwise sessiony ale. Nice hop and malt balance. Very drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good powerful pale ale. Noticeable hops and rye aroma. Good deep amber color with a decent white head. Great full mouthfeel with some weight without being heavy. Good carbonation. Flavors were balanced and smooth. It leaned toward the IPA side a bit with the rye adding a spicy character. Nice drinkable beer.

Appearance: amber orange, short light beige head. Aroma: peppery rye, juicy citrus, caramel, light herb. Taste: starts with a slightly sweet dose of caramel and caraway, giving way to bright citrus, cool pine, and earth. Finish: dry and delicately bitter, with a nice waft of rye heat to cleanse the mouth for the next sip. Notes: Iím a huge fan of rye beers, and I liked the balance of this one quite a bit. Would drink again.

12 oz. bottle best by 2/7/14 (whoops) poured into shaker. Hazy amber honey color with a two-finger foamy white cap. Head retention and lacing are both minimal, but carbonation is impressive. Aroma is spicy rye, pepper and fruit (mango maybe?). Flavor starts out as snappy rye transitioning into a citrusy middle and a very clean finish. Another winner from Terrapin.

3/2/14. With Michelle. Atlanta airport. On draft. At BW's. Why not just do what we know? Exactly. BW's rarely disappoints even if they do have a limited selection. Huge plus, though, all draft beers come in 24 oz glass. For a rye pale ale, this is pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pine aroma. Flavors of orange, rye, caramel and wheat. The wheat detracts for me, but offers a nice crispness. Well carbonate.
