Smells of light crisp hops, with a little bit of that rye in there too. Fresh smelling. The taste is mostly crisp hops, light citrus fruits, some grapefruit and rye as well. Mild bitterness in the aftertaste as expected. Pretty nice session brew. these guys are pretty solid, and usually enjoyable. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA

Clean citrus aroma. Initial flavor is sweet with a notes of orange, mango and apricot. As it goes toward the back of the mouth, the bitterness and amarillo flavor kicks in, finished by rye and honey, with some dryness. Not usually a fan of the dry hopped amarillo, but it works here. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2006 Bottle from bu11zeye. Honey body with a patchy head. Nose-sweet floral hops and the smell of fresh malt extract. Taste-high CO2, woody, honey, the raw taste I associate with rye, light alcohol, straw, floral hopiness. Lots of straw and earthy notes. Got more of a citrusy, IPA kind of nose. It was good, but just unexpected. A little watery and light on carbonation. The flavor wasn’t bad. More an IPA than a rye ale. I don’t think the rye malts are as present as they might be, but this is one fine and drinkable brew. I plan to keep it in regular rotation during the warm months.
