Aug 16, 2007 Bottle. Nose is sweet with bitter resiny hop notes, almost sticky. Light grapefruit with less citrusy fruit underneath. Gives an impression of a deep full body. Color is an immaculately clear red-orange with a little head. Exceptionally balanced with citrus bitter hops showing up but not really sticking around. Spicy but smooth palate is refreshing and full bodied, carrying the sweet and bitter flavor very nicely. Immensely balanced pale ale, possibly the most balanced I’ve sampled that still shows hop character.

Sep 12, 2007 Bottle and draft. Kind of coppery color with an off-white head which leaves a nice lacing. Wonderful hoppy aroma. Flavor of rye malt with the hops dominant but, not overwhelming. Very, very drinkable. An excellent beer.

Jan 1, 2007 Draft. Gold color with a BIG floral noise and flavor. It somehow balanced a bigtime hoppiness with a light malt flavor for a crisp finish. Great beer!

Aug 31, 2007 Pours out a nice golden color with a nice fluffy head. Floral, spicy, citrus aroma. Taste is very smooth with a nice touch of hops and a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. A very well made beer from a great brewery.

Sep 19, 2009 Had this beer on tap in Marietta while at a pizzeria.
Pours a nice copper color with some decent gold hints-not too thick so plenty of light gets through. Soft white 2 finger head that settled down to a small head as the drink went down.
Smell is just right not-not overpowering but enticing hints of hops and pine and a bit of the the rye.
Tastes like it smells-bits of pine, nice hops, and a decent mix of malt with rye falvors.
Finishes smooth with a bit of dryness and a decent mouthfeel. Definitely would drink more than one of these in a session if given the opportunity.
This is usually one of mya favorite styles of beers and it didn’t disappoint. Probably the nicest beer that I had on tap in Georgia-I look forward to having it again and some others from Terrapin too when I get the chance.

Aug 21, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden color. Sweet citrusy hop aroma... I can’t detect the rye, but it’s probably just me. Reminds me a little of Dale’s in that it’s so nicely balanced and drinkable. This is a great everday beer.

Aug 30, 2008 Clear golden color with a frothy fluffy white head. Visible carbonation. Strong hop aroma similar to Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale. Undertones of rye malt that give it a creamy smooth malty body. Caramel breadiness is the highlight of the taste and a floral and potent hop finish.
