Commercial Description:
We Consider this an extreme version of an American Pale Ale. It has a very up front floral and citrus aroma from a late cascade addition and dry hopping with Amarillo. This beer also has a big malt background to balance the bitterness of the hops. The rye malt cleans up your palette after you swallow so the hop flavor does not stick in your mouth too long.
Now available in bottles.

This beer pours orange with a light tan head. The aroma is strong with citrus hops. The flavor is also strong with citrus hops and the beer has a dry finish. The mouthfeel is a little thin. There is a slight graininess to the flavor (possibly due to the dry finish or perhaps from the rye), but not an unpleasant one. Overall, this is a very nice hoppy pale ale.

Clear straw yellow color with a white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of hops, flowers with a flavor of hops, lots of citrus, and a dry rye finish. Decent lacing.

Sampled at October Houston RB tasting. Nose is very hoppy and floral. Taste of substantial rye and light hops. Clean, light, and fluffy. Very drinkable.

Pours a golden yellow, not much head, good lacing. The aroma is citrus hops. The flavor is weak, a little watery, some maltiness, leaves a little bite on the tongue. Now I’m looking forward to the squared. This is not bad, just weak.

Bottle from Total Wine in Ft. Myers. Cloudy golden brown with a wispy white head. Sweet rye aroma, but dominated by corn flavor, with just a touch of rye shining through. Dry and spicy at the finish.

Bottle shared by Dogbrick. Copper pour with a medium off-white head. Grainy malt aroma with a bit of sweetness. Grainy and bready malt flavor with a bit of hop bitterness at the end. Methinks this bottle has sat for too long, but still drinkable.

Hmmm...was expecting more from this after reading a rather generous review in a beer magazine. A good hop aroma rises from a light orange - hay color body and small, white head. The rather pungent pale ale hop smell should have warranted more flavor from the beautiful buds but this APA lacks serious hop punch, however it does deliver with a noticeable hint of rye. Overall this isn’t a bad sixer, though after one or two you want something with flavor.

bottle thanks to bleeng. Tasted at Houston BA Tasting in October. Pours a clear amber with almost no head. Nose is of citrus. Taste is of orange peel. Mouthfeel has a good bitterness to it. Good pale ale.

Bottle courtesy of bleeng. Hazed orange pour. Chlorine odor right up front, however I found out later that the Houston water supply has a chemical smell to it so this may be to blame. Some lighter grain scents but soapy. Taste is even but has a bland feel. Dry finish.
