dmac (789), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Apr 25, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear orange amber with a small foamy white head. Aroma of bread, caramel, fruit, slight rye on warming and something that was odd that I couldn’t put my finger on...soap, wax, plastic. Whatever it was it wasn’t rye. Nice medium/full body with strong carbonation, palate was so full that it was almost chewy. flavor of toast, bread, rye and some underlying grapefruit hops. What’s up with all the turtles on the Terrapin labels anyway??
jhliesen (331), West Melbourne, Florida, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle--Quality stuff, dark amber coloring with a medum head. The aroma was of medium strength hops. The flavor started with some brief malt taste with hops coming up quickly. The finish wasn’t bitter or sticky that is expected with hops. Produce Place 1.49 kkearn (596), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2008 12oz bottle. pours clear orange-amber with a frothy, medium sized off-white head. Really enticing aroma, with earthy hops and rye. Flavor exhibits some sweet caramel malt up front, which is quickly joined by the rye and floral hops. Long, moderately bitter finish. Very drinkable pale ale; the rye adds a very nice dimension. Miver (291), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured clear copper in color with a large frothy beige sticky head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of rye malts, with a bit of sweet floral hops. Tastes of Rye, floral hops, caramel, and a little mild citrus. Nice body and certainly and easy drinker. Pretty good. yespr (5521), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 6, 2008 12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a lacing white head. Citrus and grapefruit aroma. Mild spiced too. Light breadish malt flavour with a light citrus fruity note on top. Slowly building bitterness into the finish. Tejas (574), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 4, 2008 Pretty solid. Sort of dry for my taste. Probably b/c of the rye. Flowery and a little citrussy too.
