2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. bottle
A “non-distinct” pale ale. I found that the rye made no discernible difference.
Taste of grass, citrus, and caramel.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2016 Can sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Golden with a white head. Stale hops aroma. Dry flavor with bitterish stale hops, a sweetish malty touch, and a rye hint. Light to medium-bodied. Seems too old (BBD is 3 weeks ago).

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reddish amber pour, slightly hazy with a nice white head. Nicely made beer. Easy to drink, nice citrus nose. Hoppy, though certainly no where near face melting. Enjoyable with a pizza!

Can at home while in jacksonville beach. Pours amber with a white head. Light ginger aroma and lemon aroma. Medium body, medium carbonation. Toast, light honey, caramel, light ginger... Straightforward stuff but fairly well done.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours hazy orange-amber with a 2-finger white head. Mild aroma with a peppery note over citrus oil. Body is medium and lightly oily, with a touch of astringency in the finish. Flavor of citrus hops mixed with a peppery, grassy note that lingers in the finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pinkish orange pour, no head. Aroma is Cheerios, perfume, floral. Taste is not as spicy from the rye as one would imagine, more grainy and floral, slight lemon. Watery on the palate. Just an ok pour.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Recently sampled from a can, I was pleasantly surprised with this offering from Terrapin. Pours a honey accented-orange standard pale ale color, with a white foamy head. Aroma of brown sugar and sweet malt, with pacific hops. The rye comes through subtly in the taste with a sweet rye malt flavor with toasty brown sugary malt also; there is a solid hoppy bitterness to be sure, but this is well balanced by the strong malty notes. Features a solid medium bodied mouthfeel also. This is an exceptionally good beer overall, more enjoyable than the Hopsecutioner. A recommended malt-centric distinctive pale ale.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very bitter hoppiness but the rye malt really cuts into the bitterness on the finish. As a big fan of rye whiskey and other rye beer I really enjoyed this one. Not your usual pale ale but a real nice change of pace from the norm.
