COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boom ShakaLager is the next installment in Terrapin’s “Side Project” series of beers. This Imperial Lager is made exclusively with German malts, German hops and a true Bavarian lager yeast strain.
While 99% of the beers brewed at Terrapin are ales, we figured we should show some love to the lager style as well. Not that this off-beat, big beer is going to be brewed to a traditional style or anything.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of sincereNC. Pours a hazy deep golden with a small off-white head. Intensely sweet and caramellish nose. Rather solid body, a little thick and syrupy with flowery hops. The finish is a little rough with heavy duty alcohol and a harsh hoppiness. 230211

Bomber. Props for the attractive label and gold foil. Pours gemlike copper with a loose, watery head; no lacing. Weird cherry, purple grape and bubblegum aromas… in the background are buckwheat pancakes, butterscotch, mango, and garam masala. Doughy and candylike flavor; sweet and boozy. Glazed carrots. Toasty finish with minty alcohol taste. Mild spicy bitterness throughout. Sticky, syrupy body. Flowery afterward, a cross between roses and cilantro leaves. Definitely a dessert sipper. A crazy-ass, massively strange beer... overflowing with fruit and spice, completely unlagerlike. It was tasty, but confusing... have the brewers ever tasted a lager before?
