THOUGHTS: Rather nice. Not the best I’ve had in the style, but it is up there near the top. The aroma could have used a little help, but it was that flavor that’s most important and that was good. Very well balance. A very intense beer made even more extreme because of it being a lager. Simply beautiful lacing.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, very light brownish orange or light orangey amber with a large, off-white head that slowly diminished and left some of the best lacing I’ve ever seen. The aroma was a bit weak in comparison to the intense flavor. It had moderate, bread, toasted malt, caramel, nutty malt and cracker; moderate to heavy resinous hops; slightly honey; Band-aid, rubber, and a little sour lemon thing at the end of the last pour. The initial flavor was moderately to rather sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was rather to heavily sweet and rather bitter with an average to long duration. There was lots of malt, caramel malt honey, grassy hops; slight rubber, resinous hops, earthy hops, some metallic hops and toast and jam. The sweetness outweighed the bitterness, but it was still fairly well balanced. The medium body was a bit syrupy and quite sticky by the end with fairly fizzy carbonation and a light to moderately astringent and rather dry finish.

Red-orange pour with a light tan head. Cereal aroma with notes of coconut and sun tan lotion (maybe some aloe?). Cough syrup flavor with lots of sweet cereal. Some bitterness comes through in the finish. Not a good beer.

Pours slightly hazy orange without much head. VERY sweet nose, caramel and alcohol dominate everything else. Flavor still sweet but not as syrupy as the nose would have me believe. Full bodied, light carbonation.

Very average beer. The nine percent alcohol a well hidden but this is a miss for Terrapin

Date: 8/21/2010 Source:Maniac Caramel graininess with spicy hop aroma. Clear amber golden with small white head. Big spicy hop presence. An American dopplebock of sorts. Finish is moderately sweet with robust bitterness.

Bomber. Clear orang yellow with thin white head. Aroma is big and sweet, with floral hops. Flavor changes it up a little with some huge citrus for this Boom shakaLAGER (i love that name) and some more floral notes in the middle, ending bitter biting and boozy. Its lightly to medium sweet the whole way through. I’m drinking, I’m digging!

nice rich amber, and even a hint of chocolate malts. hops are leafy and almost balance the sweetness.

Bomber procured at Bourbon Street P-burg. Full bodied and to the point a powerfully honey sweet malt base encapsulated in single tone of biting hop. Took me awhile to finish this critter on such a hot day. Swimming in the neighbors pond did help it go down. Nose is well present as are the wavy legs. My brain hurts.

On tap at Fuck Store, I mean Brick Store Pub, and I also had the distinct pleasure of enjoying this in bottle form as well. Nice dark coppery appearance with a slightly fluffy head. It looks the same on tap. I hope they start to make more fucking lagers. A nice and fresh hop and malt aroma. There is a slight malt dominance, but it is still smelling great. Nice and crisp Pils hop aroma. Fuck I just had the Heller Bock from Sierra Nevada and this smells exactly the same. Seems a little more pungent, but oh well. Light honey aroma coming from the malts. Malt sweetness dominates. Very smooth and crisp on the tongue. For fuck’s sake I am drunk. Lingering hop bitterness provides a nice flavor. Slight toasted malt flavor. Overall, a nice thick lager. Hey, Terrapin didn’t fuck up on one of their Side Projects, imagine that!
