Legend had is Captín Krunkles is the most feared pirate on the high seas. No one has seen him, his ship, or the great beer his band of pirates drinks has lived to tell about it. Until now. Made with a bombardment of hops to defeat your tastebuds in battle and all the black malt you can stand before walking the plank, this Black I.P.A. will make it worth going down with the ship.

22 oz bomber - Pours a dark brown to almost black with some reddish highlights and thin tan head. Aroma is sweet, floral, citrus, malty with roasted notes . Flavor is definitely what you would expect from the aroma with some chocolate mixed into the combination which was perfect. Medium body with a pleasing floral hop and citrus finish. Very good black IPA.

22 Oz Bottle shared by WeeHeavySD in a hotle room in vegas. pours nice black with a thick beige head. Hoppy aroma with ints of roasty malt. Flavor is very well balenced with some nice roasty and sweet notes offset with some bittering hops in the finsih but not so much, fbody is fairly light and easy drinking. very tasty and nearly sessionable.

Bomber from Grant, brought to vegas, shared with bikesandbeers after going up $400 playing blackjack at the Aria, back in our room at the Luxor. Pours wonderfully black with a nice tan head. Nose is nice with a malty vibe and hops on the side. Taste is nice and pungent with a heavy resin hop vibe. and a bit of chocolte, nice black ipa, and gotta love that name and label.

On tap that the Capitol Alehouse in downtown Richmond, VA. Its black with a bit of light brown head. The nose is dominated by the black malts, but a bit of a pine character fights throught. Same with the flavor. Basicly this is a bitter stout. Too much black and not enough IPA.

Tampa Wkly Gathering @Datz-on tap-pours a brown head and black color. Aroma is resin/orange. Taste is resin/orange hops bite, dark malt-roasty/some smoke/ashy. Not as good cold, so this rating is at cellar temperature.

From Normís Beer and Wine. Nice black appearance. Hoppy front, malty back. Slight coffee taste. Very interesting IPA.

Pours dark brown with light tan head. Nose is lots of sprucey, spicy hops, some sweet orange/grapefruit rind, pepper, and sweet chocolate. Think palate. The pine/spruce notes tend to dominate, and they clash with the sweet dark malt more than complement it. Still, itís fresh and a little different... but Iím just not sure it works.

Bottle. Pours jet black, no light comes through even when put directly in front of a light. Tan head that gives way to nice lacing. Aroma of slightly burnt malt and citrusy hops. Very similar taste although little heavier on the malt than the smell. Overall, very drinkable and very unique. A quality experiment.

Bomber. Black with beige head. Aroma is huge grapefruit citrus, resin, chocolate burnt malt, and when I first opened it I got a lot of Popsicle brand artificial grape smell. Flavor is chocolate, burnt turning sweet and as it warms opening up a lot more sweet citrus. Really great and Iím buying another

Pours a deep black as you would expect of a black ipa. Smells of hops and alcohol and corn. Tastes the same.
