COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Legend had is Captín Krunkles is the most feared pirate on the high seas. No one has seen him, his ship, or the great beer his band of pirates drinks has lived to tell about it. Until now. Made with a bombardment of hops to defeat your tastebuds in battle and all the black malt you can stand before walking the plank, this Black I.P.A. will make it worth going down with the ship.

this was a very different beer, I really enjoyed it. Loads of malts, slight chocolate flavor with hop bitterness coming through the back, loads of citrus with some grassy notes. Not as heavily hopped as I would have thought this beer to be

Terrapin is really rocking it with their beers. Anyway medium bodied beer with little head on the initial pour. I smell malts and very bitter hops. Interesting nose. I can taste chocolate, hops, malts, coffee and malts as well. Very nice beer.

22oz bottle. Pours a dark black with an off white almost light brown head that sticks around.Nose is an interesting blend of pine hops and dark toasted malts.Smooth brew with hops and malts balanced well but confuse me at the same time? This is an interesting brew that challenges the palate and the mind.I think i really like it...but I want to sample again.....

Pours out black with lots of head. Taste is roasty piney. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt, citrus, pepper, smoke, and some pine.Clean finish balanced smooth, good stuff.

Poured a black color with a cinnamon colored pillowy head that produced some lacing. This is a heavily malted and hoped beer with plenty of coffee, roasted malt, caramel, and a hint of herb. The mouthfeel is heavy with a sweet forward roast coffee bean flavor initially with a crisp bitterness and hop on finish.

22oz bottles. Pours black with a nice size light brown head. Aroma is hoppy and slight malts. Nice citrus hops flavor followed by roasted malts, and ends smokey and a nice bitter finish. Finish lasts for a while which is nice. Medium bodied.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a Spaten Mug. This brew poured a dark brown (almost competely black) with a one finger tan head. The aroma of this brew was piney. The taste of this was a very smooth earthy flavor that intensified upon swallowing. The hops were very subtle and almost missed. It maintained evident lacing throughout. Overall this was a very nice brew that is easy to drink while still maintaining an earthy flavor. With that said, I would have enjoyed it much more if there was some balance to the earthy flavor. This was still quite good for a Black IPA.

Poured dark black with an off-white head. Chocolate and coffee in the aroma. Pine and mocha in the flavor. Not my favorite, but I can appreciate it.

Picked this up while on vacation in Orlando at Knightly Spirits. Maybe my expectations were too high being a big fan of Stones Sublimely and Southern Tiers Iniquity black IPAs, but I expected more from this beer. Thought the hop profile was moderate at best.
