3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Picked this up while on vacation in Orlando at Knightly Spirits. Maybe my expectations were too high being a big fan of Stones Sublimely and Southern Tiers Iniquity black IPAs, but I expected more from this beer. Thought the hop profile was moderate at best.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A couple of BA traders have asked me about this beer when I told them I could get Terrapin. I bought one for someone, and then picked one up for myself to see what all the Hooplah was about:
Ap: Pours black as night, with a 1/2 inch head that left instantly, and carbonation to spare.
Ar: Not really strong in the aroma department, but what Iím getting reminds me of Coca-Cola - slightly bitter, with a hop sizzle.
T: Not at all vicious, actually very malty, and much smoother than I expected.
P: Frothy lacing and very creamy in texture. Very soothing.
O: Nothing really special about this one, but the beer itself is not too pretentious. Also, I REALLY love the bottle art!

Bottle, probably sat on this one too long. But it has aged well. Choclatety flavor, roasty, hops have diminished. Very flavorful, great mouthfeel, oily. Real nice.!

These beers usually smell better than they taste, in my opinion, and this one was no exception. Rich chocolatey and citrusy nose comes with a palate that is just slightly too bitter and a flavor profile that clashes more than Iíd like. Still, pretty darn good and another impressive side project.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Acquired in a trade. Enjoyed in a Hill Farmstead Glass.
A - Gorgeous hazy wheat appearance with a golden light appearance. No head whatsoever.
S - Gigantic Bavarian wheat scent. Fresh wheat and light apricot scent. Very mellow hop scent. Loads of pineapple and lemon zest. Very nice and harmonious. Great balance really.
T - Yeah. Hard to tell a big difference between the hops and the wheat. Itís basically 50/50 with a big dry german yeast. Pretty well balanced but a very dry wheat taste on the finish.
M - 100% carbonation. Very borderline medium / light body. Big wheat and lemony finish.
O - Nice beer. Itís not a great wheat IPA but itís decent.. 81/100.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very deep brown, a little ruby light shines through. Nose is roast, caramel & piney hop. Flavor is caramel, nice roast, big pine character with some tropical hop notes. Finish is bittersweet chocolate & pine with lingering caramel. I recognize that this bottle isnít the freshest in the world but I prefer it to fresh samples of Captín Krunkles that I had.
