COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Terrapin ""Dos Cocoas"" gets its name from the deep history of chocolate and the two forms of Ecuadorian cocoa we use in this exceptional beer. Brewed with 100% cocoa powder, and aged on a bed of pure cocoa nibs, the chocolate flavor in this beer is so mouth watering it will even make Wonka jealous.

Pours the deepest mahogany into the glass with a wispy head that leaves little lace. The nose is of chocolates, light roasts and dark vinous notes. Flavors are similar, dark chocolates and roasts, dark esters, with a milk chocolate mouthfeel and slick palate. Medium-light body.

Bomber from Proof... I think. Dark brown pour with thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate, roasty malt, dark fruit. Tastes are cocoa, toasted malt, chocolate milk vibe. Kind of thin and one dimensional. Not for me.

I missed this when it was a Side Project so I guess Iím glad to get another shot at it. Deep brown, almost black color, with a small tan head. The aroma has chocolaty notes, toasted grain, and barley. Pretty straightforward. No surprise, the flavors get kicked off with plenty of chocolate notes. Some zippy, active carbonation tickles the palate with mild day old coffee entering the mix. Thereís nutty notes present giving the whole thing a roasty chocolate covered nut taste. Borderline thin; could maybe use more body. Much better; more chocolaty and slick as it warms. Gets a touch fuller too although I still would like to see a more silky, creamy body to this. Overall probably just decent but certainly one to check out if given the chance.

On draft At Isaacs. Nice black pour. Body was slightly thin, but it appeared thicker. The aroma was an awesome blend of chocolate, cream and coacoa. The taste was sweet, roast, chocolate and cinnamon. Well done.

22 oz. bottle. Black pour, with a small, tan head. The aroma is molasses, semi-sweet chocolate, light coffee, cinnamon, and a little peat. The flavor is very sweet, and a little acerbic. Medium body, sticky, and vinegar-ish. Overall, this is a mediocre chocolate porter.

Growler. A: Aroma is light but good. Smooth chocolate. A: Looks ok. Head retention is ok. Color is like dark brown. T: Light. Chocolate is subtle (contrary to the description). A little spicy on the finish or so. Too light. P: Light... watery... little flavor development. Would be a good beer to intro someone to dark beer. Overall this beer is ok... itís very light and the chocolate is subtle. Itís easy drinking but definately did not live up to the description. It was sitting in the fridge next to founders porter and this beer just doesnít compare.

Bottle at the house. Aroma is big time chocolate with light roast. Thatís about it. Flavor is the same - tons of chocolate and some roasted notes. Palate is average to a bit thin. Carbonation is medium. Good beer.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip. Nearly jet black with a mocha head. Aroma is roast and chocolate. The taste is roast, chocolate, ash, lactose and a bit metallic. Heavy on the sweetness, but has a slightly dry bitter finish. Body is light/medium with soft carbonation. Overall, a nice twist on a porter.
