COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Terrapin ""Dos Cocoas"" gets its name from the deep history of chocolate and the two forms of Ecuadorian cocoa we use in this exceptional beer. Brewed with 100% cocoa powder, and aged on a bed of pure cocoa nibs, the chocolate flavor in this beer is so mouth watering it will even make Wonka jealous.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of tootsie rolls, chocolate fudge, cocoa powder, chocolate malt. Super chocolatey aroma. Flavor of chocolate malt, cocoa powder followed by darker, bitter chocolate, and roasted malts. Nice chocolate porter, rather complex. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Poured from a bottle this beer is a chocolate brown with a slight head. The aroma is of chocolate. It tastes of roasted coffee with chocolate overtones that linger on the palate

From a 22 oz bottle shared in Avon NC. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Cocoa aroma. Flavors of chocolate with ahint of coffee. Effervescent mouthfeel. Mildly bitter finish.

22oz bottle pours a watery, translucent black with some thin, white head. Nose if very nice, inviting dark and milk chocolates, some coffee, a little brown sugar, some toast. Flavor is the same, very chocolatey with without being over powering, only mildly sweet, brown sugar, some molasses, toast. Dry finish. We had this side by side with the Yards Chocolate Love and this was five times the beer that was. Very drinkable.

On tap at Whole Foods in Market Square in Fairfax, VA. Opaque, very dark brown with a fine khaki head and excellent lacing. Aroma of chocolate milk and mild tart dark fruit. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, metallic lactose and mild tart dark fruit. Light/medium body and medium/high carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at the Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Snifter. Pours a very dark black with a tan mocha head. Some lacing. Aroma of cocoa, dark chocolate, bread and plums. The taste was mostly chocolate, cocoa nibs, roasted nuts and vanilla. The mouth was smooth. I prefer a little more lactose creaminess with a heavy chocolate presence but it was still good. Slight bitter finish.

22oz bottle from Spirits Brick. Poured a medium density super dark tootsie roll brown body under a larger foamy beige head. Aroma of chocolate pudding, dough, wet brown bread, marshmellow and some vanilla also. Fuzzzy carbonation is the dominating aspect of the palate, medium to almost slightly thinner and a chalky finish. Flavor of grains, cocoa puff cereal, milk, some dry cocoa powder. Not bad but not great.

Dark chocolate in appearance with a smell of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Cocoa taste is perfectly well balanced with a hint of spice (possibly from peppers or various spices that may have been used). Just another great beer from Terrapin. HIghly recommend if this is your style of beer.....look forward to more "side project" beers from this brewery.

Serving: 22 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours black with a nice dark khaki head. The nose is a mix of milk chocolate and cocoa powder. The flavor is mostly chocolate as you would imagine. There is a nice sweet creaminess on the tongue. Not too thick making it on the drinkable side and not just a dessert beer. Nicely done.

Dos Cocoas is back like cooked crack (See; Juelz Santana). Missed this brew the first go around. Glad to have a second sip at the pint. Pours dark with tan head. Chocolate flavors layer well over the general roasted character of the Porter. A little thin for Porter, but overall a damn good beer. Bottle - Green’s Beer & Wine - Atlanta, GA
