COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The legendary hop-hunter Krunkles turns up yet again, back from a tour of the Orient. His goal this time is to get experimental; his unbounded travels have earned him an honorary doctorate (“Doctor of what?”, you may ask. This would be a question to which only Krunkles knows the answer…) and he’s sequestered himself in the lab perfecting a never-before-seen formula for his beloved IPA. Dr. Krunkles White Farmhouse IPA reaches new heights in complexity and flavor by combining the malt and spices of a Belgian Witbier, the yeast of a Farmhouse Ale, and the hoppy goodness of an American IPA. Dr. Krunkle’s twisted touch is a dash of white peppercorn followed by wood aging on white ash.

Pale golden appearance was appreciated, and the head was a bit small for an IPA or a Saison, but was quite durable. The aroma was heavily on the Belgian side of the mix, and was full of hay, horse blanket, and other farmhouse funk. The taste had a nice bubble gum start, followed by a floral flourish, and an earthy finish. Touch of tartness in the aftertaste. Not quite as funky as a true Saison, but close. Unfortunately the IPA side of the equation felt neglected, as hops were far from aggressive. The medium thick feel was just right for an IPA or a Saison, and the alcohol was hidden under complexity. Nice brew, but I just kept wishing for more hops.

22oz bomber. Pours a hazy light orange color with a thin foamy off white head. Aroma of sweet citrus fruit, candied sugar, funk, and spices. Taste is fruity, with notes of cedar, grassy hops, spices, and citrus skins. Kind of odd. Wasn’t a huge fan of this one.

Pours a hazy solar yellow with a very thick yellowish buff head. Hoppy aroma has strong notes of yeast and - must be that white peppercorn. Typical IPA flavor hosts firm citrus, woody, yeast and pepper. Very distinctive. Texture is none too thick, but quite lively and fizzy. Yes sirree, Mr. Krunkles has earned his PhD.

Bottle from New Leaf. Unclear light amber pour with a fluffy white head. White wine aroma, wood, yeast spice with a touch of funk. Light sweet malt entry fading into phenolic yeast spice, wood, white wine ending with a herbal spicy hop character. Medium bodied, nice carbonation and light alcohol. Not bad.

Clear golden pour with good layer of white head. Smells floral and perfumy Almost a touch of peach or kumquats? Flavor has white pepper spiciness with soap and mikan notes. bitter orange pith finish. Not extremely hoppy, but well balanced. This is actually enjoyable, but not something I feel the need to have again.

Cloudy yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is lemon peel and herbs with some light floral hops. Flavor is hoppy with a bit of bright lemon aftertaste. Finish is fairly clean, reminiscent of a wit. Well spiced throughout, a little peppery. Wife: 3.7

Pours a clear yellow color. Fruity yeasty lemon peel wit like aroma. That flavor hits you first with the Belgian yeast band aid flavor and is quickly followed and complemented by some pepper spice. Band aid yeast on the back end sort of takes over and doesn’t let much of the oak or wood come through. One of the more full bodied adventures in this series.

Pour from a 22 oz. bottle at the Side Project release bottle share. Pours a clear gold with a small white head. Notes of grass, wheat, coriander, perfume, florals, peppercorn, and lemon peel. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a bitter, coating mouthfeel. Nice wheat IPA.

22 oz bottle. (Riverside Wine & Spirits) Chattanooga, TN.
Clear golden colour with a small white head. Yeast, hops and fruits in the aroma. Very likeable. Yeast, mild brett, hops and mild bitterness in the flavour. Very tasty. Great!

Murky orange, voluptuous but fragile white head. Smells like tangerine and other citrus aromas, plus some wine and oak. Flavor is citrusy, then yeasty, then odd spicy stuff. I also get some white wine, as well. Very enjoyable.
