COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The legendary hop-hunter Krunkles turns up yet again, back from a tour of the Orient. His goal this time is to get experimental; his unbounded travels have earned him an honorary doctorate (“Doctor of what?”, you may ask. This would be a question to which only Krunkles knows the answer…) and he’s sequestered himself in the lab perfecting a never-before-seen formula for his beloved IPA. Dr. Krunkles White Farmhouse IPA reaches new heights in complexity and flavor by combining the malt and spices of a Belgian Witbier, the yeast of a Farmhouse Ale, and the hoppy goodness of an American IPA. Dr. Krunkle’s twisted touch is a dash of white peppercorn followed by wood aging on white ash.

Bottle. Pours golden with small white head. Aroma is spicy, almost a bit fruity, not much hop presence. Taste is some Belgium fruitiness, again not much hops. This one is a bit interesting. Aftertaste is clean, refreshing.

Bottle courtesy of Falco242. Aroma includes brett mixed with hops and hints of spice and citrus. Hazy, murky orange with a frothy white head and nice lace. Dry initial mouthfeel with a fully evervescent mouthfeel and a Belgian aspect. Hops are there but this is anything but an American IPA. Points for uniqueness. Unique and enjoyable; could be a little sweeter.

Another solid "Krunkles" Side Project offering from Terrapin. Orange-like with a booming off-white head. Lots of scattered lacing sticks to the sides of the glass like cobwebs. The aroma shows a lot of herbal character to it. There’s orange blossom, tropical fruit, cotton candy, grassy, and yeast all present as well. The flavors are a bit sweet upfront with cotton candy and tropical fruit notes before drying out mid palate and into the finish. Spices and orange rind provide a contrast to the sweeter character with some firm hoppy bitterness in the finish. Grassy notes mix in with an overall very mild yeasty funk to it. It certainly comes across as a Belgian IPA and a beer that I found plenty enjoyable, but not outstanding.

Slightly hazy yellow orange with a white lasting head. Strong peach and spice aroma. Taste is yeast, peach, orange, slight funk, and spices. Easy soft palate. Really interesting beer. Refreshing.

Hazy yellow, white head. Interesting mix of citrusy hops, grassy hops, herbal notes from the pepper and just a dash of woodsy flavors. Good body and a good drinking beer.

22 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. A: Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber color. A nice, durable white head leaves beautiful lacing behind. S: Fruity, with citrus, peach and apricot notes. There is also an obvious Belgian yeast component and a moderate, most peppery, spiciness. T: Quite spicy at first, with contributions from the yeast and hops, but this fades nicely into a fruity-yeasty-bready mix. Sweet, tart and bitter in roughly equal measure. Feel: Medium-high carbonation is, perhaps, a tad too high. Medium body; dry finish. O: A successful, interesting and well-balanced combination of styles. Farmhouse ale and IPA vie for prominence but neither wins out.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a very big sudsy head that falls to a thin cap.

Aroma: Citrus , flowers, clove, vanilla.

Taste: Belgian yeast forward, spicy hops, a touch of tangy fruit. Finishes with modest bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied, prickly lively carbonation.

Overall: A nice spicy, flavorful Belgian ale. I went into this not expecting anything that resembles what I know as an IPA, and that helped me enjoy the beer for what it was.

Vol 20! Foil wrapped, 22oz bottle. Aroma of hops, deep heavenly scent of Christmas tree. Orange color, white foam. As it warms there is a smell of orange zest, bready Wit yeast, & floral coriander in the nose. Flavor is dry, Wit like characters. Bread, straw, dried citrus peel, wheat. Dry finish, floral & citrus. Very well balanced. (3964)
