[ As Terrapin Side Project Guano Loco 23 ].
Clear light dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, perfume, spicy, sweet chili fruit, guano. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, peppery, warm, spicy, veggie - chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140814]

22 oz bomber. Pours a soda brown with a very light tan head that leaves a fair bit of lacing. Aroma of chocolate, pepper, toasted bread, malts, and a hint of coffee. Taste is chili peppers up front with a chocolate brownie coming in behind it. Chocolate is a bit overpowered by the pepper. Picking up caramel and coffee a little as well. Big pepper burn on the backend. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation. Very interesting and very good!

Bottle from a few months back. Chili beer! Pours a deep brown with light brown head. Aroma is vegetable forward chocolate sauce. Taste is milk chocolate, oxidized chili pepper. Nice but a little thin and lacking on any chili heat.

Bomber poured into a Terrapin snifter -- medium brown beer with half a finger of tan head. Aroma is sweet malt and vegetal. Flavor is a surprisingly light brown ale (for 8%) with biscuit, bread flavors that quickly seeps into chili flavors, a little heart and definitely some tingles in the back of the throat. Better than I remember this beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, earthy malt, vegetal/peppery notes, herbal spices. Flavor of peppery heat, light chocolate malt, more peppery heat in the finish. Definitely on the fiery side, but there is a balance between the heat and chocolate undertones. At times hard to drink. 7/4/7/3/12 [3.3/5]

Bottle from Capone’s. An interesting chile and fruit meld. Not for everyone but certainly unique and quaffable.

Draft. Dark clear brown color, thin tan head with solid lacing. Pepper flesh pops right out in the aroma, on a roast background. Taste has cocoa, caramel, pepper flesh, but only a tiny tinge of heat at the finish. Light to medium body. Interesting.

Bottle. Interesting that only the review before mine mentions gusher, cause this fucker fountained all over my kitchen. That was not fun. 15 minutes of cleanup, and barely a glass of beer left in the bottle. Fuck. Actual pour is a deep murky mahogany, surprisingly little head, some lacing. Aroma is heavy on the chili peppers , kind of mole-esque with roasty chocolate noes as well. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, surprisingly little heat given all the chili aroma. Oh wait, the heat builds a bit over time, but never becomes overpowering. Medium light body. Surprisingly given the gusherness, does not taste infected. I am glad I did not let this one sit longer; it may have blown up in my refrigerator, and that would have been worse.

Where and how: bottle 650 ml
Aroma strong, not too shy about its peppers. Chili heat with chocolate support.
Appearance :
Top: be aware, this was actually gusher. Large tanned cap.
Base: dark brown.
Palate : medium bodied, rounded feel.
Taste: not as bold as aroma suggested. Good balance between chili’s and chocolate. Smooth mid with side chili heat. Hint of cinnamon and brown sugar,.
other notes nice finisher.

Bomber. Murky amber - brown pour with a wispy beige head. Big chili pepper aroma. Same on taste, but not too hot. Interesting for sure.
