COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Terrapin Side Project 12 is none other than the fearless Hopzilla Double IPA. This hoptastic creature clocks in at 110 IBUs and has all the hop explosions of a B-rate monster movie.
Made with 100% Maris Otter malt to back up the barrage of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma, this beast knows no boundaries. With all of this hoppy goodness packed into one beer, we wouldn’t have called it by any other name.

Pours dark orange with a sweet hop aroma with a hint of booze. Flavor is very sweet and citrusy, however not very piney. Finishes way too sweet ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pour. Cloudy orange with white head. Smells of apricots and malts. Upfront is melon and strawberry with a hint of citrus. Towards the back develops into a sweet burst of the pines (apples and needles). ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lots of malt and tropical fruit in this one. Malt base supports well. Not a typical West Coast hop mixture but we’ll balanced. Tropical hop flavor lasts a long time. Nice beer.

Pours dark copper amber with an inch of fizzy and soapy off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt, pine, sweet tropical citrus. Taste starts with an earthy malt base and evolves into a complex tropical citrus (orange peel, pineapple) and piney hops. Aftertaste amps the bitterness a bit with warming. Alcohol pretty well disguised. Not as sweet as many DIPAs and not as bitter/hoppy as others. I think the malt predominates a bit here. I like my DIPAs and this is above average.

Yet another unheralded DIPA that is better than HopSlam. Excellent sweet and hoppy flavor.

Pours a clear gold with light white head. Has a strong floral hop aroma with some caramel. Taste is sweet with caramel and sweet malts, and is followed with with some floral hops, but not overwhelming.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep, transparent copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of floral and citrusy hops, a lot of caramel and pale malts, and some dough. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average texture. Could be hoppier and less malty.

Another of the "Huh? I haven’t rated this yet?" variety. Pours a slightly red for style amber. Scent is citrus, champagne, and earth. Big bop bite is half hop half carbonation. Back end malt is atypical of usual sweetness found in IIPA’s. Lively on the tongue. Bottle - Ale Yeah! - Decatur, GA
