4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours Hazy yellow, with a faint and delicate head. Very lightly carbonated, elegant almost light tiny bubbles. Inviting aroma of pure hops. Resiny but deftly balanced with a wonderful malt backbone. It’s a dead ringer for a west coast IPA and one of Terrapin’s finest, best defined efforts. AT 110 IBUs it’s a big hop bomb but it is very well balanced. As the beer warmed in the glass the flavor intensified, but so did the alcohol, to the point of warming my gut as I sipped it.
Great effort! Congrats to Spike.

Has to be good. Terrapin is a decent brewery. Glass been using is killing everything so giving it benefit. Will come back and amend when #2 goes down if no improvement.

12oz bottle shared with JohnGonk. Pours a clear golden orange color with a thin foamy off white head. Aroma of floral and citrus hops, some pineapple, and caramel malt. Taste has lots of caramel maltiness, with notes of older citrus fruit, citrus zest, and pine.

Bottle. Pours an orange color with white head. Citrus, tangerine, hoppy, orange aromas. Citrus, orange, resiny, hoppy flavors. A bit goopy. Nice hop flavors but a bit thick and high in alcohol for my taste.

Found notes from my old notebook. Black pepper flavors and a bit of a spicy aroma as well. Sweet and full bodied caramel malt. Orange candy and cream sickle notes. Smooth throughout with a slightly bitter finish. Nice body here.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Mango, muscat aromas. White Porto flavor, piney hops, bitter dry finish. Very nice brew, strong alcohol level makes it feel like a hop liquor almost.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle to glass. Pours a clear deep copper-ish amber color with a thin off white head. Aroma is a thick caramel malt, with a hint of alcohol, and a healthy dose of fleshy fruit hops. Taste is reasonably hot, with a fruity hop bitter sweetness. Body is medium and creamy with a lasting caramel alcohol burn. A unique but fantastic double IPA!
