Terrapin Side Project 12 is none other than the fearless Hopzilla Double IPA. This hoptastic creature clocks in at 110 IBUs and has all the hop explosions of a B-rate monster movie.
Made with 100% Maris Otter malt to back up the barrage of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma, this beast knows no boundaries. With all of this hoppy goodness packed into one beer, we wouldnít have called it by any other name.

Pours Hazy yellow, with a faint and delicate head. Very lightly carbonated, elegant almost light tiny bubbles. Inviting aroma of pure hops. Resiny but deftly balanced with a wonderful malt backbone. Itís a dead ringer for a west coast IPA and one of Terrapinís finest, best defined efforts. AT 110 IBUs itís a big hop bomb but it is very well balanced. As the beer warmed in the glass the flavor intensified, but so did the alcohol, to the point of warming my gut as I sipped it. Great effort! Congrats to Spike.

Poured flat orange brown from bottle. Malty predominantly over the citrus. Not too bad.

A nice sweet malty hop aroma. A nice dark fruit with well balanced citrusy hops. Good stuff

This double IPA has alot of hops and has a real rocking taste. This is one of the better IPAs I know of.

Bottle 2014 vintage. Iím not sure of the bottling date but, this has to be over 6 months old at least. Iced tea burnt orange. Malt forward with tea and pine on the aroma. The taste adds bitterness, honey, and sweet caramel malt. The mouthfeel is rich and sticky. This one is such a big iipa that some age has treated it well. Very different from when it was fresh but, still very good. -- Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a tap at the brewery. The pour is a unfiltered orange sweet and malty double IPA . Stricky medium body.

Bottle, yup I drank it straight out of the bottle -- A very malty IPA, a strong base that just has a super thick resinous mouthfeel from all the hops used in it. Very pleasant, definitely a good sipper.

Sweetish, fruity, caramel aroma. Very foggy, orange tan brew with a thinnish ivory head. Drier than it smells, not over bitter, starchy malt flavor, some off vegetal notes. Moderately sweet, fairly acidic. Sturdy mouthfeel. On tap, Whole Foods, Tallahassee.

All the numbers on this one seem off. I'm surprised it's 10.8%, I'm surprised it's 110 IBUs, and I'm surprised it's only rated 3.7. Higher in my book. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This was awesome. Hoppy and boozy, with a punchy citrus hippy presence. Really lovely and a beer that I would love to have more often.

bottle. Just did not like this imperial IPA. Could have been a bad batch, but major alcohol present - not refined at all. Disappointing
