3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the Rocket City Brewfest. Pours pale yellow. The aroma is pine hops, wheat, and lemon peels. The flavor is bitter up front, with some malt balance. The palate is sticky and astringent, with a long bitter aftertaste. Overall, a great idea, but the hops drown out almost anything else. Still, not bad.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Well, itís certainly cloudy like a hefe, with a creamy white head. Aroma is citrus and wheat. Taste is pretty unique and flavorful. Up front itís pretty hoppy with citrus/grapefruit flavors. Middle is almost a bit soapy as it transitions to a funky, wheaty, banana, orange flavor. Iíve tried this concept before in my homebrews and I only wish they came out this good. Definitely an extra point for being different.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake, VA. Hazy orange pour with a thin and bubbly off-white head. Aroma of banana, clove, and light floral hops. The flavor is more on the wheat ale side rather than the IPA part with sweet ripe banana, bubblegum, clove, nutmeg, and coriander at the front but there is a noticable hop bitterness that is both interesting and welcome. While the alcohol is not overpowering this does come across as a higher ABV beer than your standard wheat ale/witbier/hefeweizen. This is a really solid brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber shared with kristen. Pours a semihazy orange amber with ring of near white head. Nose sweet and semi-spicy citrus wheat. White pepper flavor and buttery hop profile. Easy drinking. Rather enjoyed this one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a very cloudy dark orange with a half fingerís worth of head. Aroma has some wheat, a bit of sourness and even some piney hops. All over the place. The taste is quite an amalgamation of sweet wheat, noticeably bittering hops, and a rather buttery aftertaste. A strange brew that is kind of going in 12 different directions but still doing it rather well.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Great great ale brew from the locals. Wheat wine is what I like to say. Good floral notes. Great color and lacing head. Love this brew.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amazing nose smells like a citrus fruit salad smaking you in the face as soon as you pop the lid. Pours cloudy-as-hell yellow-amber with minimal head and little lacing. Flavors are intense. Says itís a "Wheat IPA" and pretty much is exactly that. Notes: citrus, banana, ginger, floral. Bitter aftertaste, loses a few points for iffy palate. This is a beer I have to force myself to not chug. Itís delicious and goes down oh so smooth. Iím not a Hefe guy at all but this is a gem.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a hazy golden amber with a big white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass and settles in as a splotchy cap.
The aroma has a solid citrus hop character up front, lemons and oranges, but with some bananas form the wheat. Hints of spices in the nose as well.
Taste is a little less hoppy. That said, it has a bitterness, especially in the finish but it doesnít have the citrus that the nose promised. The sweetness of the wheat backbone is there with bananas and bubblegum, though the finish of clove and bitterness is what lingers on the tongue.
The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with tons of carbonation and is much more bitter than a typical wheat beer.
Iím not sure if this is an IPA or a wheat beer but I donít think it comes together quite as well as I was hoping for. Itís also not in the league of Monkís Revenge in terms of melding two different types of beers.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Somewhere under this IPA lies the heart of a heffe. Aromas are spicy and citrus hops. Flavor are banana, mango, pineapple, a veritable fruit salad with leafy hops. Banana lingers on the finish. Overall a great heffe? IPA? Beer!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy amber pour with a medium, foamy white head. Strong citrus notes in the nose along with wheat/grains, candied fruit, citrus notes and light pine. Taste is big floral hops, citrus fruit, wheat, candied fruit, grapefruit pulp, pine resin, big yeast, and light bubblegum. Body is medium overall with a strong bitterness, effervescent carbonation and mild resinous notes. Finishes with more big citrus notes, floral hops, pine needles, grapefruit, wheat/grains, and light candied fruit. More IPA than hefeweizen.
