Bottle. The peanut butter is subtle and nearly unpredictable (to me) under the hops and malts. The chocolate is prominent though - tastes as if cacao nibs were involved rather than cocoa powder. I also appreciate the 6.7% abv which allows for a mellower brew and head space for an extra beer if your up for it.

Pours dark brown/black with a thick mocha head. Aroma has big roastiness with dark fruit and burnt molasses. Flavor has bold roastiness and some mild nuttiness...hints of cocoa and burnt molasses. Mouthfeel is medium/full and the finish is roasty with a nutty afterthought. Not really a peanut butter note to speak of.

Black pour with peanut butter colored head. Aroma of chocolate and peanut butter. Slightly nutty and grain aroma. light body thin mouth feel with peanut butter and chocolate malts. This beer has a unique flavor and good while still being very sessionable.

Bomber courtesy of CraftBeerDesign (thanks Geoff!) poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aroma of peanut butter, dark chocolate and light roastiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of peanut butter, dark chocolate and light carmel with a smooth lingering chocolate/peanut butter finish.

Sample from a 22oz bottle, at a large-scale bottle share. At the time, the message somehow didn’t get across to me that this was a peanut butter porter, but in retrospect, that makes sense. Dark brown color. Minimal light brown / tan head. Some rich, nutty marzipan-like aroma. Very nice cake-like rich sweeter-light bitter flavor. Good nuttiness, nice rich bread, good toastiness. Very nice flavor profile. At the time I figured this was an imperial brown ale, and I thought it made for a good one.

Aroma- roasted notes, fudge, chocolate, oak, peanut butter Appearance- mostly black, slight off-white head Taste- roasted notes, some chocolate, nice hit of peanut butter, some oak, watery finish Palate- just too thin, if this had some body it could have been something special Overall- Huge drinkability and nice flavors, just not enough body on this one to make it too memorable.

12/16/12. Bomber from Grassroots Natural Market. Rich black pour with a nice tan head that cuts to a ring and laces slightly. Earthy aroma with cocoa and roasted peanuts and a hint of that peanut skin aspect... it doesn’t strike me all that much as "peanut butter," honestly. Roasted malt hits the tongue right away with ash, chocolate, and light roasted coffee. The flavor follows with cocoa powder, a hint of sweetness, and that earthy peanut aspect again. Once again, it doesn’t strike me that much like peanut butter. Not a bad brew by any means, but it definitely isn’t what I was hoping for at all.

Thanks Secret Santa! Pours a chocolatey color with minimal head. Smells like pine nuts, peanut butter and cocoa. Taste is so unique and interesting. Very much like peanut butter nutella. Very good and enjoyable

650 ml. Opaque black with an eight inch of cream. Smooth rich nose of dark chocolate, earthy caramel and a touch of sweetened peanut butter. Taste is a little more earthy than the aroma indicated, but all the same flavors are there, plus some added vanilla, oak and dark fruit notes. Slightly sweet but balanced well by the roast and earthy flavors. Velvety smooth, medium body has a light tingle from a low-medium carbonation level, and is watery enough to keep from ever becoming sticky. This one should enter the regular rotation, or at the very least become a seasonal.

Draft at Khyber Pass. Opaque pour with a minimal head, just a slight foamy ring. When cold had very little aroma or body. Had more flavor and seemed to thicken a bit as it warmed. Dark chocolate Nutella. Black coffee. Little smokey. Little ashy. Not much red fruit. But quite big on the peanuts. Fills you up. A novelty. Unusual, but not exceptional.
