From a bottle into a plastic cup. The pour is a dark red with a white head. There is a strong peanut butter aroma with a chocolate peanut butter taste.

I donít mind if a ďnoveltyĒ beer becomes a trendy beer as long as itís tasty. Terrapinís Liquid Bliss is the second chocolate and peanut butter beer Iíve had in recent months and hopefully it wonít be the last. Though I canít say itís as good as the other beer I tried, it still works as a novelty brew that doesnít grow old.
I poured a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. It had an expiration date of 7/14/15 and was sent to me from a friend in Florida (thanks, Mike!).
Appearance: Seemingly opaque black with light brown highlights. Pours to an average size, dark tan, foamy head which laces and retains fairly well.
Smell: Almost identical to Reeseís Peanut Butter cups: chocolate and peanut butter candy. Some roasted malt.
Taste: This beer is a porter at the core and it certainly tastes as such. Up front thereís a lightly sweet sensation of dark malt, but without deeply roasted flavor or dry bitterness. I detect a mild milk chocolate flavor, but not overly sweet or of vanilla per se. The second half is the best part as the peanut butter flavor emerges and it tastes a lot like candy. Itís strong at first, but seems to weaken as I drink on. I also notice a faint tanginess right as it finishes. Iím not sure whatís accounting for that. Otherwise, the palette is rather repetitive, which is fine because the flavors present are enjoyable. Not quite the liquid indulgence I was hoping for, but a nice sweet beer thatís not cloying.
Drinkability: The first thing I noticed about Terrapin Liquid Bliss wasnít the chocolate and peanut butter taste but the surprisingly thin and tepid mouthfeel. At 6.1% ABV, this should be approaching a full-bodied brew, but it comes across as medium-light. Perhaps it was brewed with lactose sugar, or maybe itís a little under-carbonated. I will say that itís smooth and very easy to throw back. It leaves no discernable aftertaste, though.

Growler, Pavilion discount beverages, North Myrtle Beach, SC. Pours a nice dark chocolaty black with a tan head. Big milk chocolate aroma mixed with a caramel sweetness and peanut nuttiness. Nice. All nutty peanut butter up front - well done getting this to come across. Lots of chocolate ion behind that and some roast, over a medium to thin body. Sweet - might be a bit much, but balanced quite well overall. This is a very nice dessert and is well made - easily could have been a gimmick and/or gone wrong, but this is one solid unique porter that delivers on the name.

Maybe served a little too warm. Dark with a thin tan foam. Peanut butter and chocolate aroma. Body is medium but I donít find it very smooth. Dark cocoa bitterness doesnít have a peanut butter compliment, just mild and missing some sweetness.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2015 12 oz bottle best before 07.14.15. Black with minimal tan head. Nose is sweet, peanut butter. Taste is roasted malt with sweet peanut butter and some chocolate on the finish. Could use more PB flavour but itís a good one. Not over the top at all for me. The peanut flavour tastes a little artificial, but itís not too bad.

Really just smells like vomit, and has a bit of that flavor, too. I canít get into these PB beers, but this one takes the cake as just plain gross.

Aroma- Has a unique aroma of cocoa, peanut butter and malts, nice.
Appearance- Damn near black in color and has a small tannish head.
Taste- A taste of malt with a chocolate backdrop. This is surprisingly good.
Palate- A medium bodied beer with a moderate of carbonation. Slightly oily texture.
Overall- Definitely one of the better chocolate/peanut butter porters/stouts that I have tried, I have had a couple of other beers similar in style but this is one of the more successful - a nice combination of flavors without a lot of associated sweetness. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this one.

That bocktown monaca is a pretty nice beer tasting place. Lots of good beers there that rotate continuously. Slight smell of peanuts. Stay away from this if you are allergenic. First taste is bubbly dark mild beer with just enough of a hint to know its PB, not jelly. Rather friendly. Not over the top in any way. Finish is mild to medium roasty beer. Good porter and the peanut butter is well balanced. Good job terry.
