Bottle. Black pour with a tall, foamy brown head. Aroma is rich chocolate, light peanut butter notes, candy bars and roasted malt. Taste is big chocolate, candy bars, light notes of peanut butter, roasted malt and faint caramel. Body is medium with a strong, dense bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more roasted malt, dark chocolate, candy bars and soft peanut butter.

On cask at Rustico - Alexandria. Whoa, loads of peanuts. Some roast and faint chocolate. Dry finish. Tastes like peanut skin. Medium body. Quite odd.

Bomber. Nose of deep, strong chocolate and hard, dark roast. The peanut butter is super evident in the glass but not out of the bottle; it’s unmistakable and I’m wondering how they solved a tricky problem in process. Stouty brown-black pour with a creamy, rocky light brown head. Watery light body, smooth and gentle, taste is semi-sweet with pb&c, though they’re backed off and a general smooth porter flavor rules the day. Impressed that this wasn’t a massive failure.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a glowing violet tint at the bottom and a one centimetre tall, very fast dying tan head. Aroma of peanuts, earth, dirt, grass, alcohol, roasted malt, peat and more peanuts. Full-bodied; Very rich flavour at first with roasted malt, earth, toffee, caramel, peat and of course the peanuts and pecans really come through. Aftertaste shows a lot of body still with some oatmeal, raisins, earth, nuts and even a hint of hops come in at the end. Overall, a beer true to the style - a ton of roasty flavours, but even more peanut flavours going on - great if its what you are looking for, but good even if it’s not. A well executed beer and well worth sampling if you can find it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 12-December-2012 for US$7.99 sampled at home in Washington on 04-April-2013.

Split a 22oz bottle. Poured a dark brown, almost black color with a small brown head. Aroma was a touch of peanuts, peanut butter, chocolate. Flavor was some roasted peanuts, chocolate. Bought it for the novelty value, but it was a lot better than I had expected it would be. Very good.

12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a clear, very dark brown body with a few glimmers of ruby when it catches the light. Modestly-sized, light beige head.

Smell: Dark maltiness, hints of sweetish chocolate, caramel and gentle roast mingled with the butter whats made of peanuts. Thin sliver of dark fruitiness.

Taste: Chocolate laced dark malts with the growing peanut butter flavor surrounding it like a German death squad. Hints of black olive, dark fruit. Rise of blonde caramel. Minimal hop character and bitterness. Semi-dry finish, soft in feel, with lingering flavors of peanuts.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Agreeably sleek mouthfeel.

Overall: Better than anticipated! Admittedly, while I don’t have any particular beef with p-butter, I’ve never really reveled in it. As a kid, I ducked PBJ sandwiches and would readily trade away Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups come Halloween.

This poured a medium to darker brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of light roast, light and dark chcolate, marshmellows, and lgiht peanuts. Flavor was sweeter and the marshmellows really came through more than the nuts, with lots of chocolate there too. Reminded me more of a mallo cup than a peanutbutter cup.

The aroma is sweet and chocolaty with peanut butter and chemicals. The appearance is dark brown with a small head. The taste is like the aroma with a mineral watery quality. The palate is thin. Overall this is disappointing but drinkable.
