3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Quick-take review on this one. Pours opaque, ultra-dark brown with a substaintial tan head. The aroma is subtle, but roasted peanuts are clearly evident. On the palate, you’re first hit with mild chocolate and roastiness and it’s only on the finish that you taste the peanut butter. It sounded sort of gross when I first heard of it, but I was pleasantly surprised.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a dark brown-black color with foamy-creamy off-white head with very slight retention, and light lacing and cling. Its aroma featured a mix of chocolate and peanut butter as advertised, along with some light caramel and vanilla scents and some earthy hops. The taste was a sweet and bitter mix with notes of chocolate and peanut butter, along with earthy and grainy bitter flavors. It had a wet and creamy body with low carbonation and a dry finish. Thanks to Mike & Ivy for another babysitting treat!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Thanks, James "jbruner")
A- Roasty, nutty, dry cocoa.
A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, minimal tan head.
T- Nutty, slightly watery, roasty, cocoa, subtle peanut butter, dry.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, dry roasty finish.
O- If you are planning for this to taste like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (which I sort of admittedly was) you’re not gonna get it. Lots of roastiness and very nutty. Dry roasted nuts with a sprinkle of cocoa powder would pretty much some it up. There is a tiny bit of peanut butter on the finish, but otherwise it’s quite subdued and not sweet at all. Not what I wanted to get from it but it wasn’t bad either.

A fantastic peanut butter porter. Pours a deep black with a tan head. Smells of amazing peanut butter brittle. Taste is peanut butter all the way, with some chocolate and vanilla. Best of the fest. Had on tap at the Lighthouse Beer and Wine Festival in Wilminton, NC.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from a trade. A nice dark almost black pour. Thick brown head. A really nice creamy peanut butter aroma with a hint of chocolate. Like a Reese’s. A foamy creamy mouthfeel full of peanut butter. A little overly bubbly but not bad. The chocolate comes in the end. Good stuff.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at the Gnarly Barley. Reeses peanut butter cup aroma in front of delicate hops accents. Opaque black under a thin, off-white collar. Sweet peanut butter and dark, slightly bitter chocolate flavour. Hops are definitely present, probably earthy. Full body, moderate carbonation, smooth, but crispified by bitterness.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black/brown pour with tan head and lace. Aroma is as advertised large chocolate with a peanut butter kicker. Flavor is sweet chocolate, peanut butter, and a slight roastiness. No hop aroma or flavor. A sweet start and a sweet finish. Medium/full body with good carbonation. I don’t know if it is a porter but I so know it is a good beer.
