3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Served in a snifter. Pours an opaque dark brown-near black with practically no head. Some lacing but minimal retention. Aroma is distinctly of peanuts, with milk chocolate and just a hint of alcohol in the background. Overall, the beer smells sweet, but peanuts, not peanut butter, drive the aroma. Taste more or less carries through the aroma, albeit more restrained. Slightly sweet due to roasted chocolate malts, followed by peanut. In sum, a beer that delivers peanut and chocolate in the aroma and taste but fails to deliver the Reese’s peanut butter cup experience. Essentially, one is left with an excellent porter that integrates peanuts--again, not peanut butter--very well and adds to the depth of the beer. Worth a try.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light flavor aroma and body. Not much chocolate or peanut butter. Pretty much black in color with a tan head that doesn’t stick around long.
Not a beer I would seek out again.

Pours a jet black with nice brown head. Nose is of muted hops and peanut butter. Smell kind of reminds me of a peanut butter cookie dipped in porter. Taste is pretty much the same as the smell. Silky and smooth, very nice treat!

4 oz pour on draft shared by Travlr at ChurchKey, thanks Gene! Black with light tan head. Aromas of peanut butter, cocoa, caramel. Tastes of peanut butter, peanuts, chocolate, cocoa, roasty notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Fantastic nose, probably my favorite peanut butter beer of what I’ve had.

Draft. Very dark clear brown color, beige head. Intense cocoa powder and coffee grounds aroma, toasted brownies, Reeses. Taste is rich cocoa, coffee, peanut butter. One of the better peanut butter beers I’ve had all day.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours reddish black with a small light tan head.Aroma of peanut oil and some chocolate. Taste is very much the same, good balance between sweet and dry. Mouthfeel is a bit watery, but very silky. Didn’t blow me away, but this was a surprisingly solid beer for a 12 pack.

2.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 5/20
Great aroma but weird flavors, little peanut butter and an off chocolate flavor. Some bitter aftertaste. Huge let down.
Great body, and appearance, aroma is good but the let down is flavor.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Another 12 oz. can purchased at The Beer Shoppe, Ardmore, PA. Deep ruby color that light will not penetrate, shows a fluffy thicker head that stays until the last drop of brew. Aroma is caramelized sugar, syrupy molasses and light roast.
Flavor is pretty much what it should be. Heavy on toffee, mild dark fruit with a toasted grain like body. The finish is real sweet with a light fruity note. Body is a bit thin and borderline cloying. Light taste of alcohol. For me it’s just ok.

$1.95 bottle from Wine Warehouse, CHO.
Pours black with a tan head.
Smells of peanut butter, chocolate, and caramel.
Tastes like a peanut butter cup! Not very sweet. It’s good - better than others I’ve tried. Make it a bit sweeter and it’s a winner!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From notes. Tasted on 10/21/12 from a capped 22oz bottle. Pours dark brown with an average tan head that slowly recedes to sticky, thick lace. This beer is impressively just as advertised, tons of dry, roasted peanut along with both milk and dark chocolate. The flavor starts off with some milk chocolate sweetness, moves to roasted peanuts, and finishes with some dark chocolate, roasted bitterness. The body is just under full with pretty lively carbonation and a long peanut butter and bitter dark chocolate finish.
