COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Volume 22. Sometimes things get a little weird when there’s a full moon. Floating into "Side Project 22" comes "Moonray" Chocolate Orange Weizenbock. Our rendition of this traditional style is clearly a hoax with the addition of cocoa nibs and orange peel for a greater depth of flavor. With its big malt presence and hint of banana from the yeast, this beer may just make you hotel at the moon.

The aroma has chocolate citrus and chemicals. The appearance is brown and flat. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall not to good.

It's got a nice sour start with a mild chocolate and orange oil while not being citrusy, it's weak on the palate and low carbonation ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle served at about 45F. Very dark clear orange-brown body covered by a bubbly tan head. limited lacing; good retention. Smells a bit off but probably just the mix of orange (peel?) and weizenboc with 8.3% ABVk. Some mid chocolate too. Flavor is better but still a bit diappointing. Orange and chocolate are in prudent levels with an obvious weizenbock base, but don’t gel as hoped. Feel: medim body with medium+ soft carbonation.

Pours a murky orange brown with a small tan head. There is some sediment floating in there very noticeable. Aroma is mostly orange with a little chocolate, and pine. Taste is also the orange up front with cocoa, and hints of pine. Earthy hop bitterness in there too. Slightly thick texture. Unusual, but grew on me after a while.

Appearance: cloudy brownish water, no head, floating sediment globules, fully suspended, not sinking. Aroma: sweet and sour, chocolate, prunes, yeast. Taste : strange combo. Chocolate is there, but obviously not strong like in a stout. Orange way in the back. Some yeasty belgian wang coming thru. Mostly i taste dark fruits, prune, fig, raisin. Feel: medium carb. A little " slimy/oily", but thin, so not disgusting. Late bite of alcohol. Not bad, but disappointing for Terrapin. A guess that’s why these are side projects.

Bomber. Dark caramel with orange fringe. Thick foamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate, a bit of banana, clove and yeast. Taste is chocolate milk, banana, dark fruits. Creamy smooth mouthfeel with soft carb. I know this beer got crappy ratings, but I actually really enjoyed this one.

Draft. Deep amber brown color, medium beige head. Aroma of orange peel and cocoa. Taste is chocolate biscuit, light spiced orange. Decent enough.

Bottle shared at Crooked Stave by some chill bro. Thanks man! Pour is deep brown, almost black with a small tan head head and good lacing. Tangy, caramelly, light cocoa, orange peel, light spice, and toffee in the aroma. Taste is rich chocolate dipped orange marmalade, dark fruits, somewhat tangy, grapey, and roasty with a rich finish. Full mouthfeel with medium carbonation. I wouldn’t call this a weizen bock by any means, but a decent beer nonetheless.
