4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a deep, almost clear ruby with a dense light tan head that leaves very good lacing. Aroma is pine, pepper, and soap. Taste is a wave of bittersweet rye followed by an intensely clean and bitter pine/soap finish that lingers for a while. Mouthfeel is thick, but thin enough to be refreshing. This is a good IPA alternative, and showcases the new hops well.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Red with a thin white head. Aroma is roasted malt and mild pine hops. A little hit of resin at the edge. Flavor is mild pine hops with a resinous texture and a strong mildly sweet malt finish. A bit of sharpness from the rye comes through in the aftertaste. Reminds me of their Big Hoppy Monster, but a little less over hopped.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours brown with a minimal light tan head. Aroma is "in your face" piney hops. You can also smell the sweetness, which combines well with the hop aroma. Taste is initially rye malts leading to slightly sweet pine and a well balanced malt/bitterness in the finish. All of the flavors in this medium bodied ale are complimentary with nothing over the top. Subtle & well made!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Wonderful rye presence here; earthy spice, warm crusty bread, gorgeous color. The aroma is stunning, chock full of floral citrus and peppery spice! Extremely drinkable and very satisfying! Spike, ya did yosef proud.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber---> Burnt Hickory tulip. Pours a dark ruby brown with a small off white head that fades quickly with very little lace. Aroma is kind of a boozy blueberry and some sweet caramel. Tastes a bit roasty with some rye twang and nice fruity hop presence. Palate is a little more thin than I would have liked, but that’s my only knock. Really dig this one.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 22, 2013 Deep cooper color, bordering on light brown, and the head was a bit small, being one to two fingers thick. The smell was an aromatic mix of earthy and citric smells with whiff of resinousness. The smell reminded most of ripening mangoes on beds of straw, and transported me back to summers in Mumbai. The taste was very disappointing after that inviting burst of smells. For some reason, there was too little hop flavor, bitter or otherwise, left in the taste. There was a touch of citrus, and a hint of pine, but otherwise the taste was very dull compared to the smell. There was some toasted rye flavors coming through, but I was hoping for a Mosaic hop showcase here, and I didn’t get one. The mouthfeel was soft, and medium thick, and the finish was smooth, and clean. I was hoping for more.
I tried another bomber again, and this one seems better than what I remember the beer to be. There is a lot more tropical fruit in the flavor, and the hops don’t appear quite as subdued as before. There is also an excellent spicy note characteristic of rye. I am going to up the scores accordingly.
