Maybe my expectations were just a little too high. After all, Terrapin knows plenty about making a great IPA, so a Fresh Hop Terrapin IPA should be fantastic. This one was good, but not a good as I expected it to be. Nose is mostly pine and resin but seems way too faint for the style. Taste is similar - slightly bitter, pine, resin, citrus, but lots of caramel malts come through also. It’s good, but just seems too balanced and weaker than I expected.

Crystal clear redish orange. Light floral hoppy nose with hints of resin and peach. Light bodied, watery. No real flavor to speak of other than an every so slight hint of hops. Calling this an IPA is a stretch.

22oz bottle to pint glass. Pours a deep amber with little to no white head. Aroma of hops malt pine and something woody. Mouth is thin with minimal carbonation. Tastes of roasted malt hops and again a little something oaky. Finish is bitter and lasting but with a nice crispness. A nice seasonable ipa.

Had this at Kickbacks on King Street in Jacksonville, FL. Very good beer, and by far the best tonight. Has a very strong, fresh, and smooth hoppy flavor.

Smells and first taste are full of hops. Underneath the hops is a basic malt taste that isn’t strong nor great.

From a bottle. Pours a nice, bright copper color with very little head and lacing. Aroma is sweet, earth/floral hops and malt. Taste is very fresh hops. Thin mouth feel with a slightly sweet finish.

I love the fresh hop flavor and aroma. The texture is a little light though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
