Bottle at home. Pours clear dark amber with a small, frothy beige head, medium to short retention with good lacing. Aroma is toast and cookie malt, dates, nutty malt, earthy, herbal, and light pine hops with pear and apple esters. Flavor is moderate toast and cookie malt with medium hops and moderate bitterness, light candied fruity esters and a sweet finish. Medium to full body and medium carbonation.

MartinT (8135) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 13, 2014
My Bottom Line:
Foresty and floral hoppiness dominates this lightly caramelized Harvest Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the misty amber.
-The floral character takes more and more room as the pint warms up.
-Malts aren’t very well developed; a few sugars and that’s it.
-The leafy hop bitterness is smooth for the style.
-This might have been bolder a month or two ago, but it cannot have had more clarity.

Bottle.

From a bottle. Pours hazy copper brown with a bubbly, frothy, off-white head and decent lacing. Tastes like hops, citrus, floral. Dry feel. Light body and low/medium carbonation. Smells malty, nutty, like caramel and toffee.

Bottle. Pours mostly clear amber with frothy off-white head. Aroma is dank and grassy hops, citrus fruit, biscuit and cereal malts, and light spice. Flavor is dry malts forward with medium hop bitterness, light straw, and light citrus esters; dry finish with a touch of bitterness. Medium body and low carbonation.

DocJitsu (1046) - Florida, USA - DEC 29, 2013
Pours a lightly cloudy classic golden color with a one-finger, rich, light tan colored head. Pungent pine couched in some citrus on the nose. Texture is pretty unremarkable with some biting carbination appearing a moment after the pull into the mouth. Disappointing flavor given the nose. Adequate malt backbone, but the malt and hop flavors combine to yield a staleness one would not expect in a current vintage with this bouquet.

Bomber. Amber with no head. Sweet hop and pine aromas. Light fruit and citrus. Big hop flavors. I expected a brighter taste but it just wasn’t there.

Unfortunately it is kind of average. Not a whole lot of zip to the nose, look, taste or palate. Not bad though...
