3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 nuplastikk (2445) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 23, 2010
12oz bottle. Thin orange-yellow color with a respectable, creamy white head. Wheat and candy banana in the aroma. Light to medium bodied, quite refreshing. Perfect minimal hop balance complements the banana yeast tones. Smooth creamy body. An excellent beer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 DalzAle (1336) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - FEB 19, 2010
Bottle. Honey yellow pour, little carbonation and a good sweet banana aroma. Flavor is clove right off the bat, then sweet honey and again more banana on the finish. Not bad, can see this being a good summer beer.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 merlin48 (656) - New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA - FEB 13, 2010
Bottle pours a clear straw yellow body with a small white head. Aroma is wheat malt and lemon. Light body has active carbonation. Taste is mostly wheat malt, accented by a nice touch of honey sweetness and lemon. Spicy hops add a balancing bitterness. I don’t detect any banana or clove. This would a good thirst quencher in warmer weather but it’s not one of Terrapin’s better efforts.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 VAYankee (267) - Virginia, USA - FEB 5, 2010
Clear pale golden body. Aroma of banana, wheat, and a hint of honey. Light, sweet, banana, clove and spice flavor; aftertaste is more of the same.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 curly (2203) - Seattle (Newcastle), Washington, USA - FEB 4, 2010
Cloudy pale golden/orange, thick foamy white head fades. Aroma of sweet banana and spice. Taste is moderately sweet but with a slight earthy bitterness. Jesus this tastes just like a banana. Light body, lively but good carbonation. Very pleasent.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MartinT (6150) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 13, 2010
My Bottom Line:
Banana esters, citrus fruit, doughy yeast and cracking wheat are laced with meticulous honey in this quenching twist on a Weizen.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy blond.
-The finish is mostly doughy yeast and fruity tartness.
-The prickly effervescence works well with the tight body, making for a very professional mouthfeel.
-This is very drinkable, balanced and has a personality that few Weizens or American Wheats have. Great little brew for sunny days indeed!
Bottle.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 branspra (293) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - JAN 6, 2010
Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with absolutely no head, just a few bubbles around the edge of the glass. Aromas of banana, dough, and a touch of honey. Palate is surprisingly lively with a nice crisp finish, although the aftertaste disappears rather quickly. Tastes of oranges and wheat abound. Pretty good beer, but the appearance really needs some help.
