3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 PhillyBeer2112 (2328) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - MAY 23, 2011
Cloudy yellow gold, foaming head. Aroma is light, with hints of wheat, honey and banana. Flavor is dry with a tingly graininess with some soft banana at the finish and a soft airy palate, some hints at bubblegum. Not bad, sitting somewhere between an american wheat and a hefeweizen, not for a moment bland or boring. I’d like to see the idea of a german hefeweizen brewed with honey taken a little further, though, could be interesting.
2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 oobawa (549) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 23, 2011
Pours a hazy gold with a nonexistent head. Smells appealing, though, with crisp grass and citrus notes, plus a solid hefe background. Doesn’t start out with a sugary blitz, letting the traditional bananas and cloves do their thing. But the finish is pure Tupelo honey, thick and ultrasweet and overpowering. This beer tries to pull off something cool and complex, yet ends up a sweet, syrupy mess. Feels too slack, meaning the sugary fade sticks around forever. Just too damn sweet for much more examination. (5/8/09)
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Chipalsa (482) - Florida, USA - MAY 20, 2011
Bottle pour ---> Light, clear golden body. Nice little head and thin lacing. Scents were hops, bread, yeast and a little spice. The beer tasted overall light, but refreshingly full of light malts, wheat and citrus, with a smooth lingering bitter aftertaste. Quite the wheat beer, and is very drinkable.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Ulfada (255) - North Carolina, USA - APR 30, 2011
Nice wheat aroma, hazy yellow pour. The honey adds some sweetness. A little too sweet for a wheat beer, I like them more tart. A fairly middle of the road wheat.

Bottle: Pours a hazy gold color with a nice white head. The nose is biscuity with some wheat and bready notes, clean esters and a light earthy hop note. Clean and light, I could use a bit more wheat but it’s very nice on this hot day.

I think wheat beers are becoming my favorite style of beer at the moment. I seem to really enjoy each one I try. I thought this beer was delicious, crisp, clean and refreshing. Pours cloudy gold. Minimal head. Aroma of spice, banana, yeast and citrus. Mild yeast and wheat flavors with strong citrus notes and a nice touch of honey on the back end for just the right amount of sweetness.
