3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 wedgie9 (1370) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 5, 2010
Rating from notes. Tasted from a bottle obtained in a trade. Pours clear pale orange with a bubbly white head that leaves light lace. Nose is a typical wheat beer with clove, banana, and bread with an added honey component. Flavors are similar with the clove flavor and other spices a little more pronounced than expected. The banana and honey flavors are both there, but rather subdued. The body is very light and almost sparkling with an enjoyable spiced finish.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 EithCubes (3053) - GERMANY - AUG 21, 2010
Bottle best by November 2010. Lightly musty but potently wheaten nose, has some interesting crackery notes that I love (and only rarely find) in a Hefeweizen. Floral and mild clover, but not really much honey character. Hazy golden pour with a short-lasting white head. Dry, very crisp taste ups the ante on the wheat and adds a healthy dose of vanilla. Faintly tart with mineral water accents. Medium-full body. A good question for categorization on this site; this could be a lovely Hefeweizen if the honey addition didn’t so tamp down its brightness, but as it is, a very good to great summer beer.

Hazy golden coloured body with a dense, two centimetre-tall white head. Aroma of wheat, curacao, honey, yeast and a bunch of nice spices. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive allspice, coriander seed, curacao and a bunch of bananas and yeast - very nice. Aftertaste shows a lot of character, but in a good way - no bitterness or harsh tastes at all. Overall, a very nice wheat - perhaps one of the best American’s I’ve had in a while! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 15-June-2010, sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 24-July-2010.

Clear light golden with a fizzy white head. Sweet malt and honey aroma with the honey dominating the taste. Decent.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 eaglefan538 (2726) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - JUL 17, 2010
Poured from bottle. The appearance was light straw gold, weak head. The aroma was bananas, some citrus, lacking strong phenolic spice character. The flavor followed, again slanted toward bananas and citrus with an overall thin mouthfeel. Decent flavors, tilt away from spicing may have worked, but it needed to be a bit more assertive in flavor and mouthfeel.
