COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Sunray Wheat is a German style unfiltered wheat beer brewed with a touch of local, Georgia Coast, Tupelo honey from the Savannah Bee Company. It’s inviting banana/sweet clove like aroma gives way to a pleasant, clean finish with a hint of tartness.

bubbleflubber (1206) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - JUN 11, 2010
Mild golden pour into the glass, with an initial froth that wears thin, leaving lightly soapy lace. Nothing about it is reminiscent of "unfiltered", though. The nose is of bubblegum and banana extracts. The flavors are of heavy bubblegum, a bit cloying at times, mixed with some banana and honey. The sugar-water palate has some active carbonation that tries to fool one into a medium-light mouthfeel, but it’s just so sugary-processed that it gets knocked out of kilter and balance completely. Good for a rate, I guess, but I won’t be buying this again.

Beerlando (3276) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 11, 2010
Fresh 12oz. bottle. Pours a hazy, dusky, medium-light golden hue with tons of slowly effervescing streams of bubbles. Fed from below, a persistent head of snow white foam leaves broken, tattered sheets and blobs of lacing on the glass. The nose gives notes of fresh, sweet wheat grain, bubblegum, banana esters, flowers, and a dash of honey. There’s a faint clove spiciness, though it isn’t very prominent. Flavors are the mirror image, again showing bland, sweet, honey-kissed wheat with notes of banana, clove spice, grains of paradise, and soft floral hops. The palate is fairly light in stature, drinking fairly watery, with lively, zippy carbonation. It’s a fairly run of the mill hefe, not offending or impressing in any significant way. There’s just not a whole heck of alot going on here.

Hazy yellow with a thin taut white head. Aroma is lemon and clove and a hint of tart strawberry. Taste is clean and crackery with banana and a mineral character and tartness into the finish. $2/12oz

Variety case ($36): Pours a hazy gold color with a quickly dissipating white head. Heavy aromas of wheat, cloves, and bananas all up in the nose. Upon tasting it, it gives of a strong taste of wheat and banana. There is a touch of honey as well from which is derived a certain sweetness. The wheat beer flavors are stronger than in most other wheat ales I have had, making this one stand out at least on the level of intensity.

On draft at Capones. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a medium sized white head. Aroma of honey, cloves, banana and wheat. Taste of honey, banana, cloves, wheat and zesty lemon.

Pours hazy yellow. Quickly dissapating head. Taste of cloves, banana, honey gives this an initial burst of flavor, but the followup taste seems to be lacking. Not a bad beer, but it seems to be missing something.

hopscotch (7288) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 27, 2010
Bottle… Clear golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Great retention. The aroma is spicy, offering notes of chili peppers, honey, wheat and green apple. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with moderate carbonation. Well-balanced flavor is of green apple with an unpleasant spiciness. Downright odd. Watery, green apple, grainy finish. Not at all my thing.
