3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 PhillyBeer2112 (2437) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - MAY 23, 2011Cloudy yellow gold, foaming head. Aroma is light, with hints of wheat, honey and banana. Flavor is dry with a tingly graininess with some soft banana at the finish and a soft airy palate, some hints at bubblegum. Not bad, sitting somewhere between an american wheat and a hefeweizen, not for a moment bland or boring. I’d like to see the idea of a german hefeweizen brewed with honey taken a little further, though, could be interesting.

Bottle. Cloudy bright golden straw yellow with a minimal head. Actually some banana, slight sweet fruits and hay. Some light sweetness in the flavor, again some hay and seems banana dominant. Lighter soft body.

Pours golden, light haze but not much for an unfiltered. A lot of citrus and banana on the nose. Orange is the main flavor component as well - not much spice. A little too creamy for the style as well. Not bad, but definitely one of the lesser Terrapins.

9/21/12. On tap at Kickback’s. Lighlty hazed golden pour with a small off-white head. Light phenolics and sweet citrus on the aroma as well as the flavor, but with a touch of creaminess. Laid back and refreshing.

Do all of Terrapin’s beers have a sticky, kind of creamy palate? For an unfiltered wheat, that is definitely unnecessary. Otherwise, this isn’t a bad beer. A bit too much tropical fruit sweetness, but the appearance and the aroma are very nice.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Foxbush (991) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUL 24, 2012
This was purchased at The Caboose for tasing. The Sunray is a wheat beer not a beer that I know much about. The beer poured with a small head that dissapated. The color is a hazy gold. The sweet taste is not my favorite in a beer. The finish had bananas in the aftertaste.

First pour resulted in a nice head, yellow honey appearance, and the aroma of juniper and citrus. Taste has bit of a bite moderate carbonation, first hints of pine, grapefruit and rye. Overall a good session ale.

Originally reviewed: 7/13/10. 12oz bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours a cloudy gold with a thin white head on top. I’m getting some mild banana, clove, and a bit of nutmeg. The mouth is creamy, with some mild carbonation on the back end. Some tart aspects noted in the flavor. The spices are mellowed out in this. Wheat is the main player for sure. Not a bad representation of the style. Pretty refreshing.

12 ounce bottle that pours a slightly cloudy golden color, aromas of some wheat, honey, and lemon. Flavors are the same, decent wheat beer overall.
