Pours jet black with a smallish creamy off white head. Aroma is huge roasted coffee, chocolate, malt. Flavor is dark roasted malt, creamy chocolate with a huge bitter coffee finish. This one is very nice but it was somewhat thin in body.

12 oz. bottle, 2008 version. Pours a very dark brown with dark tan head. Aroma is all coffee and a bit of cocoa. Taste is coffee, a touch of toasted oatmeal. Not bad, but I couldn’t drink more than one of these at a time. A good night cap beer.

Pours very dark brown with a smooth tan head. Big fresh coffee nose, roasty and almost burnt. Bitter coffee throughout, dry finish and high carbonation cut the smoothness a bit but really bring the coffee notes out.

Pours as one of the blackest beer i’ve come across, even the edges of the glass when tilted are hard pressed to shine any discernable light through... Nice deep caramel head... Huge coffee and chocolate aroma, the coffee smell is very genuine and in no way generic... There is definitely some milky or creaminess... The flavor is a bit disappointing, but only in relation to the aroma... Big roasty flavor, a bit of a coffee liqueur taste as it warms... Medium to medium full body with a lingering roasty finish... Overall a genuinely good stout...

2008 Bottle - Pours a thick almost black with a miniscule creme colored head...aroma is the normal IS fare of dark malt, coffee, bitter chocolate...flavour is similar but has a char quality on the finish, and an olive presence?...definitely not sweet or cloying, WTF is that taste? I can’t figure it out, but tasty...

Bottle shared by BlackForestCO. Pours a dark brown almost black with a small tan ring. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, and I actually picked up some fruit? Flavors are sweet malts, and chocolate upfront with a nice bitter coffee finish. Palate is smooth and nice.

Pours a beautiful deep, inky black with a medium reddish/tan head. Aroma is strong with coffee and milk chocolate. Drinks like a good ole cup of joe, with hints of hazelnut, Irish cream, and creamy milk chocolate. Absolutely delicious. I am pleasantly surpised by this beer. Definetly one of my new favorite stouts.
