2013 bottle. The aroma features spicy coffee, slight green pepper, some tobacco, a tiny bit of oatmeal, and decent dark chocolate. Pours a color similar to dark cola; no head. Moderate chocolate taste before a very bitter coffee tone takes over. Oddly enough, the finish is quite sweet with an agave flavor and traces of oatmeal. Gritty texture; rather thin body. Pretty good.

One of my favorite breakfast style imperial stouts. Creamy full body without being overly heavy. Delicious taste with roasted coffee and chocolate. Doesn’t get the same following as FBS but I think they are close in comparison. Biggest edge is in favor of the FBS for having a thicker heavier mouth feel.

2014 Vintage...Pours dark black with a medium laced foaminess and medium depth. Roasted grain, oatmeal, coffee, and light hints of chocolate. Creamy feel to the palate but not heavy. Excellent IMO...Cheers!

Poured opaque black with a 1-finger dark tan head. Aroma of dark-roasted coffee, maybe a touch of anise underneath. Full body, smooth and just a touch oily. Mild finish. Flavor of coffee with a light note of grain in the base.

Bottle into tulip glass, opaque deep brown color with dark tan head. Aroma of dark coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, black liquorice and a woody note. Taste adds notes of caramel, dark fruits, oats, ash and slight nuttiness. Heavy body, low carbonation, soft, creamy with coffee roast finish. It’s a delicious imperial coffee stout, great body.

Twelve ounce bottle, 9.4% ABV. Trade from Jason. Pours very dark brown, with a cream colored head. Aroma is richly of coffee and malts. Tastes of coffee, with a nice sweetness and is very drinkable. A thumbs up for sure.
