4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 ounce bottle. Opaque brown black color topped by a small creamy tan head. Aroma is subtle; roasted malt and rich dark roast coffee come to mind. First sip is sweet roasted malt and strong coffee. Rich silky mouthfeel. Midtaste has dark chocolate and warming alcohol notes. Finish is bittersweet with hints of licorice and resiny hops. This is a big brew with smooth flavor and complex integrated flavor throughout. One of the best American-made Imperial Stouts I have tasted. Definitely worth seeking out.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: pours with a very tiny dark tan head, the beer looks jet black as its coming out of the bottle, it's the same way in the glass with practically no brown edges
Aroma: very strong coffee, dark toasted grain, maybe some alcohol
Taste: coffee, has subtle and nicely balanced milky sweetness and coffee bitterness, some chocolate too
Palate: soft carbonation, heavy mouthfeel, bitter aftertaste
Overall: this is a big stout with lots of coffee Aroma and Taste, abv is hidden decently but this is a sipper, I like it

Bottle shared at gregwilsonstl’s tasting. It poured a black color with a beige head. The aroma was of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla and some oatmeal. The taste was similar to the aroma with more coffee, oatmeal, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts and some cocoa. Awesome.

On tap, poured into an IPA glass. The aroma is a sweet, smooth cold brew coffee with a grass and oats dry character, and a light, nutty Kahlua hint. It pours a dark, brown-black topped by a dense, soapy brown head with mild retention and good lace. The taste is a medium high bittersweet that’s nicely balanced. The texture is chewy with creamy smooth carbonation and a full body. Flavors of coffee are most prevalent with an undertone of oats. The finish is nutty and smokey with a slight ash and grass cleanliness that’s crisp and, as it lingers, reveals coffee and a dank herb / pine cleanliness. The aftertaste is bitter, dark coffee, but has a clean, fresh grass note to it.
