5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Fantastic coffee stout with a good flavor, maltiness and coffee balance well with a good heat from the alcohol content. This is a top five coffee stout for me.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 12oz bottle into a snifter. Smells boozy and woody with plenty of coffee aroma. Brew looks amazing--opaque black with a thin tan head. Taste is malty sweetness with a bit of alcohol bite on the front end. Then the coffee flavors hit you and sit for a while. That woody, nuttiness come around on the finish with a pleasant alcohol warming in the chest. This is a good brew to warm up with on a cold night. Palate is just perfect--full and rich with lower carbonation that gives the beer its delectable smoothness. Tasty tasty tasty. Another, please?

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Love it. French toast coffee aroma immediately on both the nose and palate. One of the best coffee stouts out there. Mouthfeel is 100% perfect. High abv but it must be the strong coffee cause it is not taste boozy at all. Very nice

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2014 vintage. Pours used motor oil black. Very good head volume, excellent retention and lacing. Rich nose of coffee (most pronounced) and semisweet dark chocolate (background). Minor notes of roast and dark fruit (prunes). As it warms, alcohol and prunes are quite noticeable. Medium bodied with a smooth texture - and it has to be nearly room temperature to achieve this. Normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the finish. The flavor profile is reasonably intense, reasonably balanced, but lacks the complexity of World Class stouts. It begins with a blend of coffee, dark chocolate and alcohol flavors that slowly separate over a slight sweetness. In the middle, prunes and alcohol dominate over slight notes of roast and bitterness. These fade out slowly as the finish. Very good, at best.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle) The aroma os freshly perked coffee and roasted coffee beans. The flavor is dominated by the natural coffee flavor and need a bit more malt and oats to balance. Probably the most intesely coffee flavored beer I have tasted to date.

Pours a very dark brown color with tan head. Coffee, oats, and lots of chocolate malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a combo of chocolate and coffee.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: near black into a snifter, with half a finger of creamy, dense tan head shrinking to a thin cap. Aroma: strong espresso over dark and milk chocolate, general roasty stuff, and a hint of black licorice. Taste: sweet chocolate, with surprisingly bright (but not acidic) cold-pressed coffee, black licorice, hint of soy sauce and vanilla. Finish: lingering sweet dark chocolate and espresso roast, with just a touch of earth. Notes: An excellent impy. Not overly acidic, which can be the case with coffee stouts. Decently balanced for how big it was. Bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando, purchased during the family Disney trip.
