12oz Bottle from beerlando!’ WOW! Smells just like coffee. Pitch Black! Small head, which was toffee colored and faded away. Flavor: Even though I dont like or enjoy coffee, this was good. Hint of vanilla. Small amount of oatmeal hidden among the coffee. Roasted malts. Smooth as well. Thick but just the right amount. Little carbonation. No alcohol taste. Great stout, my first time saying this but, this beer is under-rated! Thanks bryan for an awesome brew!

Bottle. 2008 Vintage. Glad to try this one again after trying the 06 vintage. The 06 was infected and over carbonated. Pours black with a dark brown head. Nose is all coffee and light vanilla. Taste is same but with a sweet malt and candy sugar. Light vanilla and bitter coffee. LIke licking the coffee filter. Light oatmeal aftertaste and caramel. This is pretty tasty. Carbonation is dialed in just right.

Thanks to dchmela for this beer. Pours a totally black hue with a tiny swirl of a beige head. The aroma is mostly coffee. The taste is also a strong coffee, but after a few drinks I have to say it’s not too much. Mixed with a light and bitter hops, coffee beans, some oatmeal cookies and some creamy vanilla and whip cream. I’ll probably never love a ’coffee stout’, but this is quite close. Well made and tasty.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of jimbowood. Thanks! Pours pitch black with a large tan head that lasts a while. The aroma is roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, and molasses. The flavor is much of the same; coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, and a hint of vanilla. The mouthfeel is right on the money. Finish is a little dry with good bitterness.

Bottle at home ...Deep solid black ... no head ... very nice caramel toffee nose ... quite sweet but an odd sweetness ... lots of roast coffee malts no real bitterness ... little syrupy ... nice mellow hop character.

12 oz bottle from a trade. pours jet black with little to no head. aromas are roasted coffee, malts, chocolate, goodness. flavours are similar and i shudder to think what this would be without the coffee cause the coffee pulls the whole thing together and makes it a great stout. a could session this imppy! i wish i had more of this but im glad i got to have it.

Bam! Black gold, Texas tea. A cold pour produces no head and just a faint lace. Aromas of coffee, yes indeed. Pull up you nearest coffee pot and give er’ a whiff. Full nectar w/ good carbonation. The pudding factor is low to NIL. Straight up coffee. Roast is moderate and sweetness is mild. Not much else but a pot-o-coffee day old. The finish is the same old coffee. For the price, I’d rather have an Espresso Stout Kiuchi style. The alcohol on this thing really peels away the layers of my scalp revealing soft tissue vulnerbale to outside influences.

Mmmm... Pours deep black with foamy brown head. Aromas of coco, oats, and coffee. Flavors of oats and coffee. Nice thick finish and very drinkable. Really enjoyed this one to the last drop!
