Jan 27, 2008 Purchased in a 4 pack from the local publix. This is a wonderful variation on a imperial stout. Coffee and chocolate taste that belnded well together, good finish. I really enjoyed this one

Jan 26, 2008 Poured into a snifter. Inky black in color. Big dark head composed of surprisingly large bubbles. These large bubbles don’t leave much lace however.
Extremely roasty aroma of espresso and semibitter chocolate.
Flavor is mainly coffee with some sweet chocolate and subdued dark fruitiness. There’s an unpleasant metallic chalky bitter note here that’s pretty distracting.
Mouthfeel is a bit high on carbonation and a bit low on body.
Drinkability suffers from the out-of-place chalkiness and the thin body.

Jan 23, 2008 Tasted with 5 other Imperial stouts. Pours black with small brown head. The aroma is dominated by bitter coffee notes. The flavor is sweet with chocolate and caramel but it is the coffee that is most obvious. Moderate bitterness in the finish and the body seemed a bit light. This was enjoyed and if not for the quality of the other beers would of stood out as quite special.

Jan 23, 2008 Although my peers may disagree, I really enjoyed this stout! The coffee acted as a reducer for the rest of the ingredients. Very subtle chocolate overtones and a very solid coffee linger. A slight hop bite, but nothing I wouldn’t mind!

Jan 22, 2008 Updated: Jun 4, 2008Bottle. Pours black with a billowing pillowing tan head. Looks good. Aroma is a bit rough on my nose; definitely tons of coffee but a sort of roasted afterbirth that I can’t shake. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, chalk. Not very pleasant, and kinda hard to finish.

Jan 21, 2008 Courtesy of JimboWood. Poured black with a brown head that fizzles out quickly. The aroma is very fresh coffee with some really nice hoppy accents. Kind of a creamy fark roast flavor with a qick shot of citrus and a drier finish. Very smooth and silky body that’s not too thick.

Jan 20, 2008 Bottle. Lots of coffee on the nose mixed with the smell of a rich chocolate cake coming out of the oven. Pitch black with perhaps the darkest colored head I’ve ever seen. Really nice full flavor with more than just coffee...Some hoppy bitterness, understated plums, and brown sugar. Really an amazing beer, although the finish is quite sticky and a little astringent. Still, that’s to be expected after a beer with this much going on in the flavor. Good stuff, if only it wasn’t called "Terrapin..."...

Jan 19, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is mostly coffee, and hop. Hints of dark chocolate, coffee, hop, brown sugar. Finished with a silky coffee feeling.
