UPDATED: MAR 18, 2013 Bottle from Five Points Bottle Shop (Lumpkin St.) in Athens. Dark brown, opaque, little head. Big roast coffee (a bit charred), with some dark fruit / Initial is all coffee / mid has more coffee and adds a little chocolate / finish goes a touch salty and then offers smooth sweetness. Medium body. A little too thin for an imperial stout. Overboiled (or steeped) coffee is present in the aroma, but not so much on the flavor. Not really sure why this beer gets so many kudos. It’s pretty good, but not that great.

Bottle thanks to timfoolery. Near black pour, with a small tan head. Lots of nice coffee and chocolate chip cookie in the aroma. Flavor is a bit of a let down though, bitter, roasted malt, light chocolate sweetness, and notes of cold coffee. Not up to par with many other coffee stouts in my opinion, glad to try it though.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Chris, served in a stem glass. Pours black with a moderate tan head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are big notes of coffee, herbs and chocolate, along with earth and a touch of hops. The flavour is moderately sweet with espresso, earth and hints of chocolate, roasted malts and hops. It closes with roasted malts and espresso that linger. On the palate, it is medium in body with a milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, an excellent coffee stout with nice roasty malts. 2013-03-02

Big beer, coffee, to acco, heavy roastiness, chocolate notes. Oily key and mouthfeel. Heavy coffee notes. A bit one sided with coffee but still damn good

Black pour, thin tan head. Fresh roasted black coffee, hints of flaked oats and toast. Creamy, smooth, medium- to full-bodied, and not too bitter. Long, black coffee finish.

Bottle at Bruce’s 30th celebrations, 08/02/13, big thanks to Peter for bringing this one along ! Dark black with a thin coffee head that dissipates edgeward. Nose is dark roast malts, rich coffee, chocolate. Taste follows - big coffee notes, booze, chocolate, roast malts, molasses, leather. Medium bodied with bite, moderate carbonation, dry sweet malty finish. Excellent stuff!

Got this from Greg in Virginia. Poured incredibly thick and dark with a brown sugar head about 1 finger thick. Aroma hits you with bitter sweet chocolate, coffee beans and a hint of dark fruits. On the lips you are hit with up front with coffee and bitter chocolate. Follows with a dark sweet chocolate and some alcohol heat on the finish. A nice desert warmer on a cold winter day with a thick mouthfeel with more carbonation than expected, but nice.

Bottle 12 oz. Dark pour with thin tanned head. Aroma of roasted nuts, coffee, lcocoa and vanilla. Modest lacing with dark deep brown color. Taste of malt, caramel, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and spices. Very good.

Black pour, stale coffee over molasses malts on the nose. Full mouthfeel that really emphasizes deep roasted malts and coffee, with a surprisingly clean finish. This is actually really nice -- lots of coffee bitterness on the back end.

Super strong roasty coffee notes, you can smell them with the glass two feet away. Mild coffee bitterness but smooth otherwise, a bit on the thin side. With coffee AND oatmeal, that means I can have one (or two) every day for breakfast, right?
