Multi-faceted stout done well. Dark roast and coffee, chocolate and oak, malt and hops. This stout has it all. Very tasty. On tap at Rams Head.

Appearance: near black into a snifter, with half a finger of creamy, dense tan head shrinking to a thin cap. Aroma: strong espresso over dark and milk chocolate, general roasty stuff, and a hint of black licorice. Taste: sweet chocolate, with surprisingly bright (but not acidic) cold-pressed coffee, black licorice, hint of soy sauce and vanilla. Finish: lingering sweet dark chocolate and espresso roast, with just a touch of earth. Notes: An excellent impy. Not overly acidic, which can be the case with coffee stouts. Decently balanced for how big it was. Bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando, purchased during the family Disney trip.

12 oz. bottle, share by Nate, much thanks! Aroma is a great medley of fresh coffee beans and roasted malt with some oat character.

The flavor starts with the mild chocolate and turns into a nice level of coffee. The body is what you look for in the style, thick chewy texture from the oats with a nice chewy texture that gives a nice creaminess as well, great palate. The coffee flavor is really top tier, that even provides some coffee bean bitterness. Damn, wish I could buy this in New England!

Bottle on 12/20/14. Pours jet black with minimal dark tan head. Nose is straight cold brew coffee, some chocolate, sweet. Taste is smooth coffee, followed by chocolate, faint dark fruit, roasted malt. Dry. Yummy.

Poured no head and only left a wispy, tan line around the perimeter of the glass. Totally black and no lacing. Very strong coffee, basically like taking a big whiff of heavily roasted coffee grounds. There's some sweetness there, but hard to determine with all the coffee. Maybe amaretto cookie. Medium-full body and bright with a little heat in the finish. Tastes like dark roast coffee and the oatmeal sweetens it up a tad, but mostly big roasted coffee. Some dark cherry sweetness as it warms. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a thin layer of brown head. Aroma is strong with overpowering java and dark chocolate with some dark fruits as well. There is also a nice roasted nuttiness that comes through. The flavor again is strong with the chocolate flavor predominating. There are also some dark espresso notes as well as some nice tartness. The consistency is very rich and thick making it almost feel like drinking chocolate espresso syrup. This may be my new favorite Terrapin brew so far.

Bottle to snifter. Looks good; a mostly opaque dark brownish black with beige head. Smells of dark malt, coffee, oats, and mild roast. Tastes like it smells with a fairly smooth medium-bodied mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Pours black with brown head. Has a faint coffee aroma. Taste is a mix of malts, grains, coffee, and chcolate. Has a dry coffee and grains aftertaste.

Pours a murky brown with a small caramel colored head. Aroma of roast, caramel, and dark chocolate. A roasty chocolate taste with coffee spice. Tasty, but could have used more body.
