pours ink black with a thick mocha head, smells of coffee with some sweeter notes in there. At first the taste is a bit sweet (malts + caramel) followed by tons of coffee and oats, then finishes with bitterness of coffee. thick mouthfeel

Pours ink black with thin brown head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of mild coffee and oats - not complex. Taste of coffee and caramel malts. No chocolate, toffee, etc like its competitors. Thick velvety mouthfeel - very nice. Overall decent but not mind blowing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sandestin bottle that says 9.4% ABV. Fairly standard dark brown pour with a nice, foamy brown head that lasts a good while. Aroma is almost like you made a really thick cup of Nescafe with a hint of chocolate. Very full mouthfeel. Lots of coffee in the flavor with a hint of booze. If you like coffee, this beer is for you.

Quite nice! Tried this after tasting three Bourbon County variants, which is unfair, but what I remember tasting is an exquisitely crafted coffee oatmeal stout. Thumbs up.

Terrapin Wake-n-Bake lives up to the hype. Rich chocolate and coffee aroma rising from a dark pour with a tan head. The aroma backs up the same chocolate and coffee taste with a smooth finish. Wake-n-Bake is a real eye opener!

Great beer! Like having breakfast! Great bitterness from the expresso coffee that just balances out the oatmeal! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

P: Pitch black body with a finger of frothy dark mocha cream on top. A nice creamy ring that clings the edges of the glass. S: Super sweet nose, chocolate covered espresso beans, sweet coffee creamer, dry rolled oats. T/M: Heavy fresh roasted espresso beans, sweet oats, pancake batter, non-dairy coffee creamer, vanilla bean, maple syrup, cinnamon baked apples, black pepper corns, touch of smoke and cereal grains. Chocolate covered cherries in the dry finish. Thick oily mouthfeel that coats the mouth and throat. Carbonation is low and almost flat. Lingering chocolate chip pancakes. O: Where has this been my whole life? Sweet chocolate goodness. The dairy sweetness is almost too much but it’s still a fantastic stout. So far this has been one of my top stout choices. Well rounded and delicious. Cheers!

Poured very dark with a brown head, smelled a lot of coffee with some chocolate. Tasted roasted coffee, semisweet chocolate and some oats. Breakfast in a bottle. A great beer.

Bottle received by my secret summer santa 2013. Thank you jsquire! Pours viscous pitch black with a fizzy dark chocolate brown head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with roasted malts, molasses, dark roast coffee, coffee har candy, soil, hay, milk chocolate, oatmeal cookies, caramel and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, soil, molasses, chocolate chip cookies, brown sugar sweetened dark roast coffee, coffee har candy, sweet liquorice candy, roasted bell peppers and chocolate fudge. Mouthfeel is soft, slightly roasted astringent, tiny watery, tiny boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, roasted bell peppers, coffee hard candy, hay, lemon zest, soil, caramel and chocolate chip cookies. Sweet in an unbalanced way and with a coffee character that doesn’t suit me.
