Thanks to El Gordo for this one! Great thick, black-brown body with creamy off-white head. Aroma of chocolate and chewy nougat. Flavor of espresso and cherries arose from a strong but delectable breakfast beer. Very very nice!

I was pleased to drink this beer. I was thinking to myself, Terrapin has blended sweet, and bitter in an imperial stout? I opened this sucker, at a higher temperature than normal, so all of the flavors would come out. I was hit with the aroma of STRONG coffee right away. Almost a bit overpowering. Then I actually tasted the beer. I was very impressed with the palate. Creamy, smooth, not too carbonated, oily, all around great palate. The aroma just gets in the way of this beer, and the coffee taste is too much. I mean you say Coffee Oatmeal, I better be able to taste some friggin sweet notes in this beer, but I did not and when I thought I did it was very, very, very subtle. Great name, great look, decent smell, I just think that this beer should be Coffee Imperial Stout.

Black, oily, film for head. Aroma is all coffee up front, but not too overwhelming to me, for some reason. Licorice and chocolate background. Flavor consists of milk and dark chocolate, almost bitter like bakers cocoa, coffee, and residuel caramel/toffee sweetness. No hop presence whatsoever. Thick, creamy mouthfeel. As I am not a coffee fan, I’ve dreaded drinking this for quite some time, but really quite nice. Pleasantly surprised.

Way too malty for me. It ended up being a drain pour. Naturally, coffee was the overwhelming flavor. My friends were afraid to try it after seeing my reaction.

Pours thick & black forming a dark brown foamy head. Aroma of strong coffee’s (of course), malts, and toffee hops. Flavor is of strong coffee beer, somewhat smooth. Hop flavor towards he end that helps out. Fairly good, but not as refine as other imperial stouts.

Bottle courtesy of Goldtwins. This beer did not dissapoint. The coffee flavor is excellent and stronger than in most coffee beers. At first i thought it was a little too much but as the glass warmed up in my hand the oatmeal started come into play and really lend that creaminess and make it a little less harsh on the palate. I find most brewers who use coffee cant quite find out how to use it right. Its usually either way too soft and almost unnoticeable or too strong and burnt. This is perfect.
