bottle via trade, sampled 3/17/07. Pours dark, thick opaque blackness, motor oil consistency, thin dark tan head of little tight bubbles that takes its time clearing, leaving plenty of lace. Aromas of thick coffee, heavy burnt cocoa, roasted grain, and booze. Flavor shows sharp coffee notes, heavy bitter espresso, bakers chocolate, and some warming alcohol. Palate is thick and heavy, coating the palate and leaving some heavy coffee notes on the finish. Reminiscient of Breakfast Stout, but not as smooth.

Played beer pong with this in the hotel room. Poured black with a tan head. Aroma of coffee. Lots of coffee with a hint of chocolate. Tasty stuff.

bottle thanks to daknole. pitch black pour with a thin espresso head. nose is very thick with coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and syrup. not bad on the palate with coffee and chocolate mostly with the roasted malts coming in for the finish. a little thinner than i was expecting though honestly.

Pours out pitch black with slight ring of head. Smell is coffee. Taste is sweet and roasty. Great flavors of coffee, chocolate and a mild sweetness. Nice balance and highly drinkable.

12oz bottle from bruisin ales. pours a slightly thick, very dark brown, nearly black with a thin, dark cinnamon brown head and great lacing. aroma is delicious with big roasted coffee, dark chocolate, toffee cookies, with a touch of bourbon and vanilla, and a hint of smoke. flavor is delicious and nearly follows the aroma perfectly. big tastes of dark roast coffee, some espresso, dark chocolate, rolled oats, and a hint of slightly tart, dark fruits and nutty, caramel malts. mouthfeel is very smooth, maybe a bit thinner than most impy stouts, with a lovely coffee finish. overall, a very solid oatmeal stout from a pretty cool brewery.

Fantastic, if a bit tin. Smells like, tastes like, and feels like coffee. And I love coffee. Pretty similar to Breakfast Stout, but doesnt quite have that extra moutfeel/tastiness to put it into the upper echelon of beers. STill a must for those who love coffee, or have a thing for turtles who smoke pot.

Bottle. Pours a dark, dark brown with very little head. Aromas are weak... a bit of roasty malt, peat, chocolate and oatmeal. Flavor is a lovely mix of light coffee, oatmeal, chocolate, dark fruit and dark sweetness. Very nice.
