Wake-n-Bake is brewed with coffee roasted by Jittery Joe’s Coffee in Athens, GA. Terrapin and Jittery Joe’s built a unique coffee blend specific for this big Imperial Stout. You can purchase the actual Terrapin Wake-n-Bake coffee blend at Jittery Joe’s or online in 12oz. coffee cans.”

12 oz. bottle, share by Nate, much thanks! Aroma is a great medley of fresh coffee beans and roasted malt with some oat character.

The flavor starts with the mild chocolate and turns into a nice level of coffee. The body is what you look for in the style, thick chewy texture from the oats with a nice chewy texture that gives a nice creaminess as well, great palate. The coffee flavor is really top tier, that even provides some coffee bean bitterness. Damn, wish I could buy this in New England!

Bottle on 12/20/14. Pours jet black with minimal dark tan head. Nose is straight cold brew coffee, some chocolate, sweet. Taste is smooth coffee, followed by chocolate, faint dark fruit, roasted malt. Dry. Yummy.

Poured no head and only left a wispy, tan line around the perimeter of the glass. Totally black and no lacing. Very strong coffee, basically like taking a big whiff of heavily roasted coffee grounds. There's some sweetness there, but hard to determine with all the coffee. Maybe amaretto cookie. Medium-full body and bright with a little heat in the finish. Tastes like dark roast coffee and the oatmeal sweetens it up a tad, but mostly big roasted coffee. Some dark cherry sweetness as it warms. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a thin layer of brown head. Aroma is strong with overpowering java and dark chocolate with some dark fruits as well. There is also a nice roasted nuttiness that comes through. The flavor again is strong with the chocolate flavor predominating. There are also some dark espresso notes as well as some nice tartness. The consistency is very rich and thick making it almost feel like drinking chocolate espresso syrup. This may be my new favorite Terrapin brew so far.

Bottle to snifter. Looks good; a mostly opaque dark brownish black with beige head. Smells of dark malt, coffee, oats, and mild roast. Tastes like it smells with a fairly smooth medium-bodied mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Pours black with brown head. Has a faint coffee aroma. Taste is a mix of malts, grains, coffee, and chcolate. Has a dry coffee and grains aftertaste.

Pours a murky brown with a small caramel colored head. Aroma of roast, caramel, and dark chocolate. A roasty chocolate taste with coffee spice. Tasty, but could have used more body.

Terrapin Wake ’N Bake has a thin, beige head, a very dark brown (essentially black) appearance, and just scattered little lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of dark, but not burnt, barley malt, rich coffee, and possibly a touch of coffee. Taste is of creamy and dark malt, chocolate, grain, strong coffee, and noticeable, yet mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is on the heavy side, and Terrapin W. ’N B. finishes somewhat powdery, mildly alcoholic, and chewy. RJT

My favorite coffee stout and one of my top favorite beers. This beer is incredible. I prefer it fresh as the coffee flavor is so fresh and pure. Smell is that warm feeling when you first smell a fresh pot of great coffee on a chilly morning. No alcohol (at 9.4% for 2014) in the smell or taste what so ever. Smooth roasted creaminess, super balanced fresh coffee blended with slight vanilla and finishes with a nice light coffee lingering with a sticky Carmel mouth feel. Such a well crafted brew!

Underrated beer. Don’t always care for Terrapin’s distribution system in state, but this beer is bloody brilliant. Bottle - Green’s on Ponce - Atlanta, GA
