Commercial Description:
Bock is the German word for billy goat. Originating from when beer was made in the winter months under the zodiacal sign of the goat, Capricorn. Our bock beer uses caramel and chocolate barely malt, which yield a dark color. It requires 2-3 times more grain than our other beers, resulting in a stronger brew. Do be aware the alcohol content is approximately 7.5%. This beer is also a lager, fermenting for a total of four weeks. Most dark beers are ales, which ferment for only one week resulting in a greater bite. The extra time spent fermenting our bock produces a dark beer this is smooth to taste.

12 oz. bottle. Poured a plum red brown with a small, fully lasting, ultra creamy off-white head. Nice lacing. Looks impressive. Aroma of chocolate and raisins - like raisinettes in my beer - with some other nameless sugary malty smells and some light alcohol. Flavor is - eeerreeech! - this is not a bock. This is a sour. Maybe an off bottle, but I’m willing to follow through and see where it goes. Apple cider vinegar and unripe apples, lightly sweet, seriously sour. Still, not unenjoyable, and a surprisingly creamy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Weird, but good.

This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of mostly diminishing light brown colored fine to medium sized bubbles that left behind a good lacing and a transparent softly carbonated caramel brown colored body. The aroma was sweet with malty hoppy doughy notes. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and mellower in the finish with a thin flavor that was dry semi-sweet and only mildly bock like. There was a slight vinegar note mixed in with the malty base. Overall it left a dry mouth feel once quaffed.

Bottled. This stuff reminds me of Camo, but was $7.99 a sixer. Non existent head. Metallic aftertaste. Very thin and watery. One positive, though, is that the quicker you drink it, the better it tastes.

Draft In New Albany, IN. Dark brown color with a moderate creamy off-white head that diminished slowly. Moderate sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Complex bitter sweet malt and fruit flavor with a short bitter finish. Interesting below average brew.

Bottle. Small ivory head that mostly dissipated, fine, small, medium and very large sized bubbles, poor lacing, transparent, minimal carbonation, and a reddish brown hue. Aroma was malty, chocolate, caramel and sweet. Sweet, bitter, malty, thin, and weak. Smooth, thin palate. Light body. Not impressed.
