3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The beer has a light amber color. The beer is quite cloudy, because it isn’t filtered. The beer pours quite a lot of rough white foam. The bulk of the foam disappears quickly, but a little layer of soft foam remains on top of the beer. The smell is very fruity. There are some strawberry aroma’s, which remind me of a good strawberry milkshake. This strawberry aroma is present in a lot of Latvian beers and I love it. There is also a bitter hoppy aroma, which forms a nice balance with the sweet strawberry. There is in a far away distance some bread and some soft banana aroma’s, but the latter is only present in tiny amounts. The taste is also perfectly balanced. The sweet strawberry fruitiness and the bitter refreshing hops are blende well together. The finish is long and bitter with a little alcohol taste. After every sip you long for another one. The beer isn’t very strong carbonated, but that doesn’t matter. It is quite perfect for the soft aspects of the smell and the taste. It is a really nice beer and it is just what I like.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle (Alfa Rimi, Riga). Slightly hazy amber color. Medium size, firm white foamy head, stays. Looks beautiful. Slightly sour, grainy, sweet, malty aroma. Grainy, sweet malts, bit sugary taste. Dusty malts in aftertaste. Tiny bit of yeast in aroma and taste, but in no way it’s disturbing. Nice simple brew.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Slighty hazy amber, medium white head. Vague malty aroma. Initially strong bitterness that fades, giving way to a watery sweetness that’s somewhat nauseating. Very watery bittersweet finish. Rubbish.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500 ml bottle. BB 27/06/2014. (Rimi) Bauska, Latvia.
This seems to be a bit past the BB but I guess that doesn’t matter... let’s see.
Hazy golden colour with a small white head.
The aroma is earthy and malty notes. Not bad at all.
The flavour is bready malt, honey sweetness and some mild bitterness.
Not the worst Baltic lager.

Flaske 500ml spandert av djoeye og delt på Nerstranda 16 Jul 14. Gyldengul. Lavt skum. Emmen fruktaroma. Smaken svakt syrlig. Blir litt tørr etter hvert. Kjedelig.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2014 White head 2-finger. Clear golden beer. Not much lacings.
Aroma; honey, caramel malts, flowers, faint hints of wommit, apple notes, grains and bread.
Taste; bread, apple, pale caramel malts, grains, flour, tiny hints of yeast.
Grainy, flourish, slightly dry on palate, normal body.
Finishes with apples, fruits, gradually ascending bitterness, half dry.
A landbier that tries to approach a pilsener during the journey.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Two identical bottles at the same time, two different flavors although production date is the same. The only difference was that one bottle was kept at home for few weeks, other one was brought from store that day.
1. Aroma-one sided- malty, pours clear, crystal golden, bubbly - despite being unfiltered, with huge rocky foam, leaving big-spoty lacing, diminishing in nice yeast like layer on top. Taste is mild sweet with far away bitter at the end, yeast presence is minimal felt, at late stages some green apple like sourness. Palate - middle body, average carbonation, a bit oily texture.
2. Aroma is more hopped, some honey in flavor, sweet, bready more than malty. Pours cloudy yellow, not so intense foam, minimal lacing. Taste is more spicy, honey sweet tones, bitterness is more intense(noble hops). Palate mainly the same.
So to me fact that same beer can taste different @ same overall conditions is very confusing.
