Leighton (9830) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2012
Bottle at home in London with friends. Pours clear, light brown with a fine, creamy head. Mild caramel nose, light toast. Light to medium sweet flavor with basic caramel, toasty bread, faint berries. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly dry to finish with toasty, almost doughy malts, faint toasty leaf bitterness, mellow caramel. Very basic stuff. Easygoing.

500ml split with various Jenners. Ruby with a thinning cream collar. Some sesame on the nose like the Munich lager I just saw off; black cherry, low roast, Westmalle Dubbel. Taste has suggestions of beef Monster Munch, molasses, digestives in the finish with milk chocolate. Trace of roast. Actually not bad.

SilkTork (5106) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, Kent, ENGLAND - JUN 27, 2012
500ml dark glass bottle from Tesco. Smooth and malty with some English hop notes lingering in the finish. A tasty beer - better than expected. Chocolate malts do work well in a bitter.

berkshirejohn (4196) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 25, 2012
50cl bottle from Tesco. Copper with a fast fading billowing cream head; simple malty aroma; soft with a sweet treacle toffee flavour with a touch of red freuit; and then some dry earthiness to finish. The body is rather thin, but otherwise nothing to complain about here - itís a simple, straightforward, dark bitter.
