2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 scotty (963) - SCOTLAND - NOV 8, 2012
Certainly looks the part, to begin with, but the nice white head quickly disappears and leaves tiny islands of bubbles floating around. Uninspiring nose, some malt, hops??? I didnt notice any! Thin and watery palate, again, some malt but little else. Quite disappointing, but what did I expect for a quid?

Healthy looking clear golden ale, but has a noticeably weak texture once it hits the palate. Good nose but little taste.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 johndoughty (3293) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - SEP 15, 2012
Bottle. Came in a clear bottle and cost one pound ( not a bad start ).
Poured with a small head and tasted slightly spicy. Nothing really going for it apart from the cheap price tag.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 leaparsons (7129) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 4, 2012
Bottle. Golden with a white bubbly foam. Aromas are caramel and butter with lemon, lime and hints of mango. Dusty, bready yeast with floral notes Flavours are dry biscuit with lemon and lager malts. Some cardboard with hints of lime and butter. Very ordinary.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 mr_h (1512) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - JUL 22, 2012
500ml bottle from Tesco, Ayr - clear golden ale, thin bubbly white head, grassy, citrus hop aroma, very high carbonation, hint of resin, citrus with a bitter, dry malty finish
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Martin243 (487) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - JUL 14, 2012
500 ml Bottle served cold in a shaker. A bit of lemon lime jelly aroma, and also in the flavour. Tastes a bit like it’s been designed by a committee to meet all the expecations of a Golden Ale. So, not bad, but generic, and lacking in individuality. Would buy the other two beers in this Tesco range again (Bitter and IPA), but not this one.
3.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 MustangMarkF (121) - Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 8, 2012
I was worried about trying this beer bearing in mind where it comes from. However, its a simple enough golden ale. The arome is a lot more critusy than you might expect but the after taste is slightly watery. All in all I’d say better than expected but by no means a classic.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 DruncanVeasey (6179) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUN 27, 2012
27/06/12. Yellow gold with a transient head. Rabbit tray aroma- trust me, I’ve just been out there, faintly drizzled with lime. Some reasonable herbal hop, hay and lemon at first softening into honeyed cornflake, biscuit, oatmeal. No off notes. Not many notes at all come to think of it, although that late creaminess is really quite pleasant. More a lager than golden ale to me (or a golden ale with the hops taken out), but better than the typical macro shite lining the supermarket shelves I suppose.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 berkshirejohn (3685) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 25, 2012
50cl bottle from Tesco. This does exactly what it says on the bottle - a simple Golden Ale - not very imaginative, but nothing to complain about either. Pours a straw colour with a billowing white head; citrusy aroma; a slightly citrus flavour with a reasonably heavy biscuity malt body; and some light hops to round it off. Good stuff to drink sitting in the garden, listening to the cricket.
