This is a classic stout. It is full bodied and smooth, delivering a rich, dark, malt flavour. This ale Osaka rich dark brown in colour, with a smooth and full bodied texture. It has good bitterness on the taste and a roasted malt flavour.

Bottled 09/10/13. A black beer with a nice brownish head. Quite a slick tasty stout. Fruity notes but thereís a lot of banana all the way through. Quite pleasant but a little strange.

Bottle from Tescos of course. It poured a deep mahogany with a lovely frothy tan head and a slightly oily consistency. So far so good. Sadly it didnít last. The aroma was weak roasted malt with a little liqourice. The flavour was medium to strong bitter with a malty, fruity, liqourice, slightly watery palate. It was a cheap supermarket stout and you get what you pay for. Sadly though I think that it wouldnít be too hard for Marstons to make some noticeable improvements... but they didnít.

50cl bottle courtesy of and shared with JMGreenUK. Thin tan head. Clear black pour. A bit thin for a stout.

Vinegar in a stout. ABL members laughed at my facial contortions as i drank it. Not good enough.
