This is a classic stout. It is full bodied and smooth, delivering a rich, dark, malt flavour. This ale Osaka rich dark brown in colour, with a smooth and full bodied texture. It has good bitterness on the taste and a roasted malt flavour.

Bottle split at JF’s, from Tesco Camberley, 11/09/14. Black with a tan covering that dissipates to edgeing. Nose is earthy roast, treacle toffee, spice, lihgt ash, dark fruit notes. Taste is pretty basic, dark toffee, sweet licks, hint of spice, brown bread, dark malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok, a pretty basic offering, just about ticks the style boxes.

Etwas duenn, jedoch recht sueffig mit getreidigen Anleihen, etwas Kaffee, ein wenig Torf und einer milden Saure. Trinkbar, ordentlich, dabei laff und leicht waessrig. Ok.

Bottle from Tesco in Eastbourne. The beer pours out in a light clear black colour with very low head and medium to thin body. Aroma of malt and torf. Taste of light malt, water, light coffee and grains. Very thin and watery. Expected more.

Appearance: Black with cm thick beige/tan head. Aroma: Light caramel and toffee, bready and lightly roasted malts. Taste: Low/medium sourness and bitterness with low sweetness. Palate: Medium thick coarse texture and body, average/prickly carbonation, lingering malty, caramel, subtle licorice finish, with a light cold coffee bitterness. Comments: Quite good and enjoyable. Not the best but on the whole not bad.

Bottled 09/10/13. A black beer with a nice brownish head. Quite a slick tasty stout. Fruity notes but there’s a lot of banana all the way through. Quite pleasant but a little strange.
